Project Freestanding Lace Easter Baskets Embroidered baskets that will impress everyone including the Easter Bunny! Designs are digitized so that each stitch supports the next so that you may stitch on wash-away stabilizer without the need of tulle or organza. These 13 beautifully detailed freestanding lace baskets are perfect for table decorations, as well as filling with treats and hiding to delight your little ones. Skill Level: Beginner Required Software: Amazing Designs Freestanding Lace Easter Baskets Embroidery CD (ADC-243) Supplies needed: Nonwoven wash-away stabilizer Assortment of Madeira rayon embroidery threads see color chart included on CD or select your own thread colors Permanent craft/fabric glue ¼,,, and wide satin ribbon assortment Large eye tapestry needle Bobbins wound with white bobbin thread Optional: Bobbins wound with matching thread OR Permanent fabric pens/markers Optional: Permanent fabric stiffener Read all instructions before beginning. Instructions: Important notes that apply to all the Freestanding Lace Easter Baskets: Refer to the picture instructions of Happy Easter basket for general technique. For thread colors, please refer to the color charts included on the CD or select your own thread colors. Use two layers of nonwoven wash-away stabilizer in every hooping. Optional: If you would prefer the back of your embroidered baskets not to be white, wind bobbins in matching thread colors and change with each thread color change, or disguise the bobbin thread in satin stitched areas by coloring the visible bobbin thread with permanent fabric pens or markers in a similar color. All construction tabs will be positioned and glued to the under side of basket components in the assembly of each basket. If extra stiffness is desired, spray baskets with a permanent fabric stiffener. Note: If your embroidery hoop has a large stitch field, combine or merge basket components where possible. This will reduce the time spent gluing. Continued on page 2

3. Trim away excess stabilizer. 4. Rinse and/or soak basket components to dissolve visible stabilizer, following manufacturer s instructions. Don t worry about removing all the stabilizer, it actually helps stiffen the basket pieces. 5. Allow basket components to dry completely. While the embroidery is slightly damp press each piece, face down on a towel, covering with a press cloth. Pressing will keep them flat. 6.
