IJF Youth Training Camp In collaboration with Sergei Judo Camp and with the support of the Olympic Solidarity, the International Judo Federation is pleased to organize an international youth training camp to prepare the Youth Olympic Games, which will be held in Nanjing, China, next summer. Marius L. VIZER IJF President Sergei Aschwanden besides being a great champion, is an experienced educator who knows how to convey his knowledge and skills to the younger generations. The choice of Switzerland was not made by chance. Seat of our federation and of the International Olympic Committee, Switzerland is the perfect place to get the best conditions for young people coming from around the world so that they can discover the judo and the Olympism values, while improving their technical level. July 20-26, 2014 INTRODUCTION The International Judo Federation in cooperation with the Sergei Judo Camp (SJC) and with the support of the Olympic Solidarity is organising an international youth training camp for the Youth Olympic Games (YOG). The camp will be held in Fiesch, Switzerland in the period July 20-26, 2014. During this week, more than 200 athletes from around the world will meet on the tatami. On the eve of the YOG it is an opportunity for these young judoka to diversify their training under the eyes and expertise of Sergei Aschwanden, Technical Director, 6th Dan and Olympic Medallist (Beijing 2008), as well as other IJF experts. Among the coaches, several Olympic medallists and World / Continental Champions will deliver their knowledge. In addition, the coaches of the participants will also be involved in training. WORKSHOP Every morning, the judoka will benefit from technical advice. It will be given by a different champion every day. RANDORI Many session (training fights) are planned during the week. They are specifically designed to prepare the athletes for the YOG. TEAM WORK Time will be given to the coaches to separately work with their own team, whilst benefiting from the center s infrastructure. DISCOVERY During the week, a half-day «discovery» tour will be organised where participants will discover the region and its traditions in a recreational and cultural way.
IJF Youth Training Camp FIESCH Located in the heart of Valais in Switzerland, this small mountain village situated at 1 050 vm above sea level offers all the necessary conditions for a quality workout. Part of the World Heritage of UNESCO, Fiesch has at the entrance of the village a training center originally planned to be an Olympic village. It can accommodate nearly 1 000 athletes who can train, eat and sleep in optimal conditions. The training center extends over a surface of approximately 20 000 m 2. INFRASTRUCTURES Accommodated in full board, participants have at their disposal a dojo of 1 200 m2 as well as a swimming pool, sauna, basketball court, beach volleyball pitch and a skate park. Other paying activities are available such as squash, mini-golf and tree top adventures. All the meals are included during the stay in the training center restaurant. The center has dormitories with 4, 8 or 12 beds. The distribution will be made based on the number of participants. Bedding is included. A coaches lounge, with free WIFI access, is available for coaches to discuss their experiences and to relax. Transportation Geneva Airport Shuttle buses will be provided from Geneva airport on the day of arrival and departure of the training camp. They will be made available free of charge to participants up to the training center. Fiesch Sport & Ferien center At the entrance of the center, there is a small station for participants wishing to travel by train. A change of train is required at Brig.
