Gozo classic ROAD RACE 10 TH APRIL 2016 - Xaghra gozo would like to invite all clubs and their members for the fourth edition of the GO Gozo Classic Road Race which will be held in Xaghra on Sunday 10 th April 2016. is proud to once again organise a race on one of the most spectacular road racing circuits on the island of Gozo. A great effort has been made in order to secure permits from various authorities to hold this event. Lapped riders may be stopped from the race if ordered by race officials No Team cars will be allowed on circuit however team helpers with spare wheels can be positioned anywhere on the circuit. Feeding is allowed from anywhere on the circuit as long as it is safe to do so. Feeding is to be made on the left hand side of the road only. Public transport and coaches will be allowed to pass. Circuit will be closed to traffic, however existing parked cars will not be removed. We will make every effort to keep the circuit car free however be careful to any existing parked car. Traffic rules are to be followed and riders are to stay on the side of normal traffic flow. We will have marshals in strategic points however it is the riders responsibility to race in a safe manner without taking excessive risks in blind corners and/or junctions. will not take any responsibility for reckless and dangerous race conduct. The race is part of the MCF race calendar and may be subject to anti-doping controls. There will be different starting times for three different groups namely: Elite and Juniors (10:00am), Masters, 50+ & 60+ (10:02am), Ladies (10:04 am). Each group is not allowed to draft/assist other groups. Electronic chip timing will be used at this event. Please see separate instructions. Prizes: A prize ceremony will be held shortly after the finish. We invite everyone to remain in the area for the presentation. ELECTRONIC TIMING We are pleased to announce that the event will be timed by an electronic chip timing system provided by ARRTS. All participants are advised to arrive at the race venue at least one hour before the start to collect their transponder upon a deposit of 10.
