Did not attend meeting: Nick Hall Race 1 MARKET SQUARE SHOPPING CENTRE 3YO FILLIES MAIDEN PLATE - 1100 metres: Alsariaa became fractious and kicked out after being loaded in its barrier stall. Alsariaa underwent a veterinary examination and was subsequently a late withdrawal on veterinary advice at 11.30am. All monies invested on Alsariaa to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 11.30am: 8 cents in the dollar for the Win, 4 cents in the dollar for place of winner, 12 cents in the dollar for second place and 16 cents in the dollar for third place. Wombat Gal was slow to begin. Our Delphia and Pearly Eyes both over-raced in the early and middle stages. I m Mariah (NZ) raced wide without cover throughout. Alpha Sierra hung out throughout proving difficult to ride. Ecology was held up for clear running approaching and rounding the home turn. Go Trish laid in under pressure in the home straight.

I m Mariah (NZ) lost its off hind plate during the race. A post race veterinary examination of Our Delphia failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 2 GRC FUNCTION & EVENT CENTRE MAIDEN PLATE - 2100 metres: After the running of Race 1, connections advised that Special Dynasty would be ridden forward today if circumstances permit. Special Dynasty settled in a handy position and was ridden accordingly. Just A Kiss began awkwardly. Tassie Time knuckled on jumping. Shortly after the start Southern Edge was checked when crowded between Lardner Lout, which began awkwardly and shifted in, and Rey Delago which shifted outwards. Also shortly after the start She Says So was checked when crowded between Red Artiste and Tassie Time, which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. Just A Kiss raced wide without cover in the early stages. Approaching the 1600m crossing, Lardner Lou was steadied and awkwardly placed when racing tight between Our Blevic and Special Dynasty which hung out slightly. Applauding (NZ), which was following, was hampered as a result. When the pace slackened near the 1300m Chenery Meadow raced up onto the heels of Rey Delago and was steadied. Red Artiste, which was caught wide in the early and middle stages, was allowed to stride forward and obtain a position outside the leader near the 1200m. Near the 600m Red Artiste commenced to tire quickly and in doing so inconvenienced Southern Edge and Lardner Lou. A post race veterinary examination of Red Artiste revealed no abnormalities. She Says So was impeded for clear running between the 400m and the 200m. When questioned regarding the performance of Our Blevic, Glen Boss stated that the gelding commenced to tire quickly when placed under pressure in the early part of the straight. A post race veterinary examination of Our Blevic failed to reveal any abnormalities and Stewards will contact the stable in the coming days to ascertain how the gelding has pulled up. When questioned regarding the performance of Just A Kiss, Jamie Bayliss was of the opinion the filly was not suited by the synthetic surface. Race 3 WINTER & TAYLOR ISUZU TRUCKS MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres: Just Dash On was checked when crowded on jumping by Holbein Prince, which began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. The Bubba over-raced in the early and middle stages. Rounding the 800m turn The Bubba raced up onto the heels of Runs For Fun and shifted out resulting in Family Ty and Sixty Years On being hampered and carried wider. As a result both Family Ty and Sixty Years On were trapped wide without cover throughout.

Near the 600m The Bubba again shifted out abruptly and bumped with Family Ty, which in turn shifted out and hampered Sixty Years On. Approaching the 600m Perfect Era raced up onto the heels of Sartorial and was steadied. From the 250m until passing the 150m Holbein Prince was awkwardly placed close to the heels of Good Night and unable to improve. Near the 250m Just Dash On (Brian Higgins) shifted out to obtain clear running resulting in Family Ty being hampered and carried wider. Brian Higgins was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. Race 4 WINNING EDGE PRESENTATIONS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE - 1100 metres: Harada Belle underwent a veterinary examination behind the start after being fractious in its barrier stall and was subsequently a late withdrawal on veterinary advice at 1.13pm and trainer Mr Shaun Dwyer was advised that the filly must gain further approval at a jump out prior to racing again. All monies invested on Harada Belle to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 1.13pm: 2 cents in the dollar for the Win, 3 cents in the dollar for place of winner, 1 cent in the dollar for second place and 3 cents in the dollar for third place. Cosmic Debris, Boogiedayz and Keep The Klass (NZ) were slow to begin. Boogiedays, Kansas Sunflower (NZ) and Keep The Klass (NZ) all over-raced in the early and middle stages. Jade Ripples hung out rounding the 800m turn. Guajeo raced wide without cover throughout. Boogiedayz and Jade Ripples raced greenly under pressure in the home straight. Dean Yendall reported that Keep The Klass (NZ) had a tendency to lay inwards under pressure in the straight. A post race veterinary examination of Boogiedayz, which was making abnormal respiratory noises on pulling up, revealed no obvious abnormalities. Race 5 CHARLES ROSE JEWELLERS SHOWCASE BM70 HANDICAP - 2200 metres: Stormy Bill and The Tinker bumped on jumping. Hey Big Bender and Cry In Awe also bumped on jumping. From the 400m until approaching the 200m Hey Big Bender was held up and unable to obtain clear running and over the final 100m Hey Big Bender was awkwardly placed close to the heels of Seattleite and was unable to be fully ridden out. From the 250m until approaching the 200m Cry In Awe was held up when attempting to improve into a narrow run to the inside of Seattleite.

Passing the 100m Stormy Bill, which was weakening, was steadied when crowded between Musee Market, which shifted out slightly, and Jimmy s Better which was carried in by Space. Mark Zahra (Space) was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care. When questioned regarding his tactics in the middle stages, Glen Boss rider of Mussee Market which led the event, stated that as his mount was travelling and he was happy to remain one off the fence. He added that passing the 600m, when he had tried to cross to the fence, his mount commenced to hang out resulting in Seattleite being able to obtain a run to his inside. His comments were noted. Brad Rawiller, rider of Hey Big Bender, stated that it was his intention to take up a forward position if possible however after beginning only moderately and being crossed by other runners in the early stages, his mount settled further back in the field than he would have liked. Race 6 JIMS MOWING SHOWCASE 0-64 HANDICAP - 1000 metres: Trainer Mr Steve Cunningham was issued with a severe reprimand for presenting Godfrey late in the mounting yard. Spareel and Ski Esprit were slow to begin. Fast Focus and Rhonda In Paris were crowded on jumping between Glamour Planet (NZ) and Beluga Miss, both of which shifted ground. Spiriticity and Fast Focus over-raced badly in the early and middle stages. Rhonda In Paris raced wide without cover. Eternal Circle was held up for clear running rounding the home turn. When questioned regarding the performance of Spareel, Jockey Mark Zahra stated that after jumping slowly he elected to seek cover back in the field. He further stated that when positioned behind Fast Focus in running, the racing manners of that gelding had inconvenienced him near the 600m, obliging him to shift out and race wide rounding the home turn. Spareel then hung inwards in the home straight placing him at a disadvantage. Over the concluding stages Rhonda In Paris was bumped by Spiriticity which was carried in by Fast Focus, which was in turn carried in by Time Ford which shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. Race 7 CONNECT TEL F&M 0-64 HANDICAP - 1900 metres: Ten Black and Evening Joy were both slow to begin. Cool Attraction (NZ) hung out in the early and middle stages. Inflatable Miss over-raced in the early and middle stages. When the pace slackened in the middle stages Stratric raced up onto the heels of God Help Her near the 1100m and shifted out abruptly resulting in Born This Way being hampered and carried wider. Following this incident both Stratric and Born This Way were allowed to stride forward by their riders to take up leading positions approaching the 800m. From the 400m until passing the 150m, Inflatable Miss was badly held up when unable to obtain clear running.

Tejon was held up for a short distance rounding the home turn. Craig Newitt, rider of Ten Black, reported that his mount did not appreciate the synthetic surface, particularly the kickback. A post race veterinary examination of Ten Black failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 8 BAY FM 0-64 HANDICAP - 1300 metres: Tiger s Cub and Set You Free (NZ) were both slow to begin. Passing the 1200m Crime Stopper, which was over-racing, was steadied when crowded for room by Innovate (NZ) (Michael Rodd) which shifted in when not quite clear. Tiger s Cub, which was following, then shifted out abruptly resulting in Smart Guy being hampered and carried wider. As a result Tiger s Cub raced wide without cover for the remainder of the race. In all the circumstances, Stewards took no action other than to issue Michael Rodd with a severe reprimand and advised him to exercise more care. Due to the slow tempo during the early and middle stages Crime Stopper, Tiger s Cub and Smart Guy all over-raced. Passing the 800m Lucky Edge shifted to the outside of the heels of Wild Erp resulting in Innovate (NZ) being hampered and carried wider. As a result Innovate (NZ) raced wide without cover for the reminder of the race. Approaching and rounding the home turn Drunken Poet was held up when unable to improve. Race 9 SPORTINGBET 0-64 HANDICAP - 1300 metres: Fifth Century was a late withdrawal on veterinary advice at 9.30am and trainer Mr Saab Hasan will submit a veterinary certificate in respect of it. Taminga began awkwardly. When the pace slackened in the middle stages Taminga, Centauraine and Ferocia all commenced to overrace. Ferocia raced wide without cover throughout. Centauraine was held up for clear running from the 400m until passing the 200m. Esprit Warrior was held up when unable to obtain clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight. Michael Rodd reported that Nakusha did not appreciate the synthetic surface. A post race veterinary examination of Nakusha failed to reveal any abnormalities.
