Race 1 Goulburn Murray Credit Union maiden plate - 1000 metres: After leaving the mounting yard prior to the start of the race Ms N McLean, rider of La Nouveau Riche, then realised that she was not wearing her safety vest. Ms McLean returned to the mounting yard, dismounted La Nouveau and applied for her vest before proceeding to the start. Stewards inquired into the matter and Ms McLean explained that after weighing out early with her vest on she then removed her vest in the female jockey s room but however failed to reapply her vest before mounting up for the race. Stewards severely reprimanded Ms McLean for being mounted on a horse without her safety vest. In arriving at this decision Stewards took into account Ms McLean s forthright evidence and the fact that she had corrected her own mistake.
D Smith rider of La Roseraie which was having its first start today, however performed below market expectations explained that the filly suffered interference at the start and was then inclined to race greenly throughout. A subsequent veterinary examination of La Roseraie revealed no abnormalities. Malan jumped away awkwardly, shifted in abruptly and tightened Magic Red which had to be checked. Malan then continued to shift in and mad heavy contact with La Roseraie. Follow The Dream jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. In the early stages Follow The Dream raced greenly. In the early and middle stages La Nouveau Riche overraced and near the 600m got its head up when being steadied off the heels of Malan. Race 2 centrebet app for mobile sv 3yo maiden PLATE - 1200 metres: On arrival on course Shut The Frontdoor which had suffered a small laceration to the inside of its nostril enroute to the course was examined by the Club s Veterinary Surgeon who passed the colt fit to start. Upon arrival at the barriers Sue Sue Suelaymon which had blood in one nostril was examined by the Club s Veterinary Surgeon who deemed the filly unfit start. Acting on this advice, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Sue Sue Suelaymon at 12.13pm. Mr D Whitford representing Mr A Noblet trainer of Sue Sue Suelaymon explained that the filly had been a little restless in the float enroute to the course and it was a possibility that Sue Sue Suelaymon may have struck its nose as a result. Mr Whitford further explained that after arrival on course and prior to the race the filly had shown no ill effects and to him appeared in a normal manner. Subsequent to the completion of the race a swab sample was taken from Sue Sue Suelaymon. Trainer Andrew Noblet was notified that Sue Sue Suelaymon is now suspended from racing until it trials to the satisfaction of Stewards over 1000m. Prior to correct weight an announcement was made with regard to betting deductions: All monies bet for a win/or place and concession betting on Sue Sue Suelaymon to be refunded. All successful bets on horses prior to the time of withdrawal of Sue Sue Suelaymon to be subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket: Win Bets: 0c Place Bets (for 1): 10c Place Bets (for 2): 4c Place Bets (for 3): 12c All monies bet after the Steward s declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of the ticket. That s Pure Gold which became fractious in the barrier was examined by the Club s Veterinary Surgeon who deemed the filly unfit to start. Acting on this advice Stewards ordered the withdrawal of That s Pure Gold at 12.16. D O Brien trainer of That s Pure Gold was notified that prior to racing again the filly must trial to the satisfaction. Prior to correct weight J Benbow rider of Tom s Recognition, 5th placegetter, viewed the Stewards patrol film rounding the home turn before deciding not to lodge an objection. Zupacharged jumped away awkwardly, shifted inwards and made heavy contact with Shut The Frontdoor. Rounding the home turn and in the straight Ronstoppable hung out and when hanging out rounding the home turn took Tom s Recognition out off its course. In the straight Bachelor Knight (NZ) raced greenly and over the concluding stages shifted in. Near the 300m Bachelor Knight (NZ) when racing greenly shifted in and made contact with Rovente unbalancing that colt. Near the 200m Savanna s Heart when improving was momentarily held up for a clear run. N Soquet rider of Shut The Frontdoor which although having its first start today however performed poorly, explained that in his opinion the colt may be suffering from a respiratory complaint. A subsequent veterinary examination of Shut The Frontdoor pulled up with a slower than normal recovery. Subsequent to the event the Club s Doctor examined M Pegus whose mount That s Pure Gold had been unruly in the barriers and deemed M Pegus unfit to fulfil his remaining engagements for the day. M Pegus is not required to produce a medical clearance prior to riding again. J Winks rider of Guitar Man which performed poorly and was eased down over the concluding stages explained that Guitar Man was extremely disappointing and could offer no other explanation for the colt s performance today. The Club s Veterinary Surgeon reported no abnormalities with the colt. The Stable was notified that a warning would be placed against Guitar Man for its performance today. Ms K Nisbet rider of Savanna s Heart explained that on jumping away the filly got its head up which resulted in herself becoming unbalanced and as a result her body weight went backwards and her grip on the filly tightened and as such compounded Savanna s Heart getting its head up further. Ms Nisbet continued that due to this incident Savanna s Heart settled further back in the field than was intended. Race 3 doug s hot bread maiden plate - 1400 metres: Rebel At Heart and She s Drahmatic (NZ) were both slow to jump away.
Shortly after the start Clovelly Hill when racing tightly to the inside of Liberty Leader then made contact with Roguish Lady. As a result Clovelly Hill shifted out and away from Roguish Lady and then had to be checked to avoid the heels of Liberty Leader. In the early stages Clovelly Hill overraced. Excessive Speed and She s Drahmatic (NZ) both raced wide without cover. Near the 1100m Clovelly Hill when overracing had to be checked to avoid the heels of Marmolejo (J Keating) which shifted in when not quite sufficiently clear. J Keating was severely reprimanded and notified to exercise far greater care when in similar circumstances. Near the 700m Royal Mephisto (NZ) shifted in and away from Marmolejo and as a result became unbalanced. In the straight Show Me Heart had a tendency to lay in. M Zahra rider of Royal Mephisto (NZ) explained that from the entrance to the straight and until the winning post he was unable to obtain clear running and that Royal Mephisto (NZ) raced in restricted room for the entire straight and for this reason finished the race not fully extended. A subsequent veterinary examination of the entire revealed no abnormalities. Ms S Noble rider of Show Me Heart, 4 placegetter, was reminded of her obligations to ride all her mounts out hands and heels to the end of the race. In arriving at this decision Stewards were of the opinion that Ms Noble s actions did not alter the result of the race. J Todd rider of Roguish Lady, 5 placegetter, was also reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out hands and heels to the end of the race. In arriving at this decision Stewards were of the opinion that J Todd s actions did not alter the result of the race. When questioned regarding Irish Vitality (NZ) settling further forward when compared to its only two race starts, trainer P Healy stated that it had always been the intention to settle further forward at these starts however the gelding was beaten for speed on both occasions. His comments were noted. Race 4 ben davey plumbing maiden plate - 1400 metres: Luke Oliver trainer of Connection (NZ) was fined the sum of $50 for presenting the gelding in the mounting yard without a tongue tie. Rose Of Texas raced wide and without cover in the early stages. After passing the 600m Miss Zabamour when racing greenly shifted out and bumped Savvy Henry (NZ). Miss Zabamour then became unbalanced, shifted back in and had to be checked off the heels of Mahrajaan. Polixenis Boy which was following was hampered in consequence. Near the 500m Span Of Light which was weakening was then steadied by its rider when racing in restricted room between Connection (NZ) which shifted in marginally and Romantic Pop which shifted out slightly after being brushed Le Rough D Smith rider of King Llanga which performed below market expectations and poorly could offer no explanation for the gelding s performance today. A subsequent veterinary examination of king Llanga revealed no abnormalities. A swab sample was then taken from King Llanga.
Mr D Hayes trainer of Mahrajaan stable representative indicated that although the colt was disappointing today it was the stable s intention to continue with Mahrajaan s preparation. Race 5 centrebest fixed price or best tote 0-58 handicap - 2000 metres: Acting on a confirmed telephone call from Ms R Weymouth, trainer of Padrao who explained that the gelding was lame in the off foreleg and was unfit to start Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Padrao at 9.40am. Ms Weymouth will submit the relevant documentation in regard to this matter. Prior to the running of Race Two Stewards were notified that it was the intention of Mr P Gelagotis trainer of Ally The Great to have the mare ridden in a more forward position today with the application of blinkers. Ally The Great was ridden accordingly. After being caught wide in the early stages M Carson rider of Gamelist permitted the filly to stride forward after passing the 1600m to obtain a position closer to the rail. When the pace slackened after passing the 800m Willy s Boy and Marvelite both had to be steadied. Near the 500m Fiesole when giving ground had to be checked when tightened for room between Fionn McCool (NZ) which was taken out slightly by St James Gate and Glamahar which shifted in slightly. When being checked Gamelist became unbalanced and lost further ground as a result. As this incident could not be attributed to any one horse or rider Stewards took no further action other than to advise them to take utmost care when in similar circumstances in future. God Jul which was following Gamelist had to be checked in consequence. Hot Power raced wide without cover. Brent Evans was fined the sum of $200 for failing to fulfil his engagement on Ally The Great due to being overweight. D Smith rider of Glamahar which performed below market expectations explained that the gelding was disappointing and did not race in a genuine manner today. D Smith further explained that Glamahar pulled up in a normal manner. Race 6 mitchelton wines 0-58 handicap - 1100 metres: Ms K Nisbet rider of Wildwood Oaks explained that the mare was obliged to race wide throughout from its wide barrier draw and this may have affected Wildwood Oak s performance today. Dowager Princess (NZ) which gave ground quickly over the concluding stages was examined by the club s Veterinary Surgeon who reported a slower than normal recovery rate. Jason Warren trainer of the filly will be contacted in the ensuing days to ascertain as to whether any matter has arisen that may have affected Dowager Princess (NZ) performance today. Levant was slow to jump away. At the entrance to the straight Coastal Kid which was laying in slightly then had to shift out away from the heels of Dowager Princess which shifted out slightly. As a result of Coastal Kid shifting out Prie Dieu had to be steadied to avoid the gelding s heels and then shifted out tightening Want To Be A Hippy which also had to be steadied. Want To Be A Hippy was then held up for a short distance.
From rounding the home turn and until approaching the 200m Prie Dieu was held up. Race 7 kelly country homes 0-62 handicap - 1300 metres: The start of this race was delayed to avoid a clash with an interstate venue. On jumping away Heavenly Dreams was tightened between Matesy and Streiff both which shifted ground. Also at the start Gracious Goddess jumped away awkwardly shifted out and then had to be steadied off the heels of Famous Finnish (NZ). In the early stages Luna Lang overraced and got its head up on several occasions when being restrained. Near the 700m Dash About shifted out to avoid the heels of Eclipsable. As a result of this Harpsund which was racing to that gelding s outside was hampered and taken out off its course. Gracious Goddess which was following then had to be checked and shift out to avoid the heels of Harpsund. Famous Finnish (NZ) raced wide without cover. D Moor rider of Famous Finnish (NZ) which performed below market expectations explained that in his opinion Famous Finnish (NZ) was very disappointing. A subsequent veterinary examination of Famous Finnish (NZ) revealed no abnormalities. Race 8 chatswood stud 0-58 handicap - 1100 metres: Subsequent to the running of Race 6 Mr A Chibnall trainer of Blaze It Up indicated that as the gelding had been overracing when racing on the speed it was the stable s intention to ride the gelding with cover in an attempt to settle Blaze It Up. Blaze It Up was ridden accordingly. After being placed in its starting stall Silverstone became restless resulting in its rider I Gundogdu injuring an ankle. After being examined by the Club s medical officers I Gundogdu was deemed unfit to fulfil his engagement. Acting on this advice and as to cause no undue delay Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Silverstone at 3.51pm. I Gundogdu does not require a medical clearance prior to riding again. Prior to correct weight an announcement was made with regard to betting deductions: All monies bet for a win/or place and concession betting on Silverstone to be refunded. After passing the 600m The Best became unbalanced for a short distance and changed stride on a number of occasions. Throughout the race Play Master hung out and approaching the 200m when hanging out had to be checked severely to avoid the heels of Indian Diamond. Play Master then continued to hang out whilst making ground and proved very difficult for its rider D Stackhouse to ride out in his normal manner. Mr P Smith trainer of Play Master was notified that a warning would be placed against Play Master for its racing manners today and should it perform in a similar manner again further action may be taken. Near the 200m Royal Gaze had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Before All which was hanging out. Approaching the winning post The Best shifted out slightly and as a result hampered Mon Coeur. Testawan hung out for the majority of the race. Race 9 centrebet 0-68 handicap - 1600 metres: Acting on a confirmed telephone call from Mr J Edwards co-trainer of Torsion who explained that the gelding had a boil on its wither and was unfit to start Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Torsion at 7.43. Mr Edwards will submit the relevant documentation in regard to this matter. Mr P Carey Trainer of Hot Shoe Shuffln (NZ) was fined the sum of $100 for late notification of the rider of the gelding. At the start Gold Viper had to be checked severely when tightened for room between Indexes and Tailorman (NZ) both of which shifted ground. In the early and middle stages Hot Shoe Shuffln (NZ) overraced. Near the 200m Our Inheritance shifted out to improve and in doing so made contact with Tailorman (NZ). Approaching the 100m Our Inheritance ( J Childs) again shifted resulting in Tailorman (NZ) having to be steadied to avoid that gelding s heels. J Childs was notified to exercise greater care when in similar circumstances. Ryan Maloney rider of Indexes pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, the careless riding being that he permitted his mount to shift in near the 1500m when not sufficiently clear of Tailorman (NZ) which resulted in that gelding being taken in and tightening Mild Mannered in onto Fantastic Porscha which in turn was tightened in onto Our Inheritance. Our Inheritance was then brushed on the hindquarters and shifted out slightly. Due to this tightening Fantastic Porscha had to be checked and when being checked Fantastic Porscha clipped the heels of Our Inheritance. Stewards deemed this incident to be in the mid range. R Maloney s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence at midnight July 9, 2013 and to expire at midnight July 19, 2013. (10 meetings, 2 metropolitan, 8 provincial). In arriving at this penalty Stewards took into account R Maloney s guilty plea and his record.
