ABOUT The Red Bull X-Alps is the world s toughest adventure race. Since the first edition in 2003, it has caught the imagination of adventurers, fans and public alike. The concept is simple athletes must race over 1,000km from Salzburg to Monaco by foot or paraglider. It s an incredible challenge, demanding expert paragliding skill and extreme endurance. Some athletes will hike over 100km in a day and will have covered almost 1,000km on foot by the time the race is over! Each team consists of one athlete and a supporter. The supporter s role is to help with logistics, strategy, nutrition and psychological support. The last three races have been won by Christian Maurer (SUI). NEW THIS YEAR! PROLOGUE JULY 2, 2015 FUSCHL AM SEE HEIGHT: 670m START FINISH 2 For the first time in the Red Bull X-Alps history, we are introducing a Prologue. The one-day event will see athletes in a hike and fly battle around the lakes and mountains of Fuschl am See, Austria. The first three athletes to finish will each be given a five-minute headstart in the main race start. They ll also be rewarded with an additional Led Lenser Nightpass to journey through the night and steal a march on their rivals. There s everything to play for! The Prologue is the perfect opportunity to meet the athletes, see the Live Tracking in action and soak up the epic atmosphere of the race in a great location.
