A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRPERSON ABOUT SWIN Our Mission: to facilitate and support the delivery of sport and recreation Programs for the South West Queensland communities and promote partnerships throughout Queensland. I would firstly like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which our services are placed and their continuing connection to the land, sea and community. I would also like to acknowledge and pay my respects to our Elders, past, present and emerging. The South West Indigenous Network Inc. (SWIN) is a recognised multi-sport organisation that provides leadership, guidance and support to the Indigenous communities of South West and South East Queensland through opportunities in sport, physical activities and recreation. The South West Indigenous Network Inc (SWIN) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres rait Islanders in Southern Queensland, which I am extremely proud of the Western Rivers Cup Indigenous Carnival and the pathways it provides whilst continuing SWIN s mission of increasing participation for our communities. Our team have been working hard towards making the 07 Western Rivers Cup a successful event with this year attracting teams from communities across Central, South East and South West Queensland. SWIN is also proud to hosting the nd Women s Western Rivers Cup in 07 with 6 teams nominating. For more than ten years, SWIN has created a supportive environment of community sport and recreation officers, recognising the unique needs of Indigenous people and encouraging skills sharing and traditions to benefit all members. Peter Jackson Chairperson I would also like to thank all the sponsors for their generous contributions towards the 07 Western Rivers Cup. As SWIN and Western Rivers Cup continues to grow, please know that partnerships with our sponsors are vital. Good luck to all teams competing in this year s competition. We wish you all the best, and hope you enjoy the fun, fast and colourful carnival that is Western Rivers Cup!
