ABOUT THE DOCUMENT The hosting rights of the following events from 2014-2016 are now available and open for bidding: - 2014 ITTF - North America Cup - 2014 ITTF - North America Championships - 2015 ITTF - North America Cup - 2015 ITTF - North America Championships - 2016 ITTF - North America Cup - 2016 ITTF - North America Championships - 2016 North America Olympic Qualifications These top continental events are sanctioned by the International Table Tennis Federation and North America Table Tennis Union, and will be a valuable addition to your sporting calendar for the year. We would like to invite all interested cities and organisations to bid for the hosting rights of each individual event. Bids for multiple events or multiple years are welcome. ITTF-NORTH AMERICA EVENTS EVENT 1: ITTF- NORTH AMERICA CUP QUALIFICATION FOR THE PRESITIGIOUS ITTF WORLD CUP The ITTF-North American Cup consists of Men s Singles and Women s Singles events and is held annually. The winner will have the honour of representing North America in the ITTF Men / Women World Cups. The ITTF Men s World Cup and Women s World Cup are World Title invitational events, considered one of the Grand Slams of Table Tennis. 19 top players from around the world are invited to the annual events, including the 6 Continental Champions. Event Duration: 2 Days Estimated Participation: Approx. 60 participants and officials The ITTF - North American Cup will be held in: 2014, 2015, 2016 Page 9
ITTF-NORTH AMERICA EVENTS EVENT 2: ITTF- NORTH AMERICA CHAMPIONSHIPS QUALIFICATION FOR THE ITTF WORLD TEAM CUP The ITTF-North America Championships consists of Teams and Individual events. The Winning Team also qualifies for the biennial ITTF World Team Classic representing North America. The ITTF World Team Classic is the World Title invitational Team event held once every 2 years, when the World Team Championships are not held. The top 12 Men s and Women s teams from around the world are invited to this exclusive event, qualifying through their respective continental event. Event Duration: 3 Days Estimated Participation: Approx. 190 participants and officials The ITTF - North American Championships will be held in: 2014, 2015, 2016 Page 10
ITTF-NORTH AMERICA EVENTS EVENT 3: NORTH AMERICAN OLYMPIC GAMES QUALIFICATION TOURNAMENT OLYMPIC GAMES QUALIFICATION The North American Olympic Games Qualification Tournament sees athletes from North American countries striving to qualify for the Table Tennis Singles Events at the Summer Olympic Games. The next Olympic Games will be held in Rio in 2016. The Olympic Games need no introduction as one of the greatest sporting events in the world, and it is one of the highest sporting honour and achievement for an athlete to represent their country in the Olympic Games. Event Duration: 3 Days Estimated Participation: Approx. 55 participants and officials The North American Olympic Games Qualification Tournament will be held in: 2016 Page 11
