Concept Archery and rifle shooting are two of the most popular events for Boy Scouts, but among the most difficult to run as a troop due to training, equipment, and location requirements. Our troop is fortune to have access to a cache of gear and several trained Scouters to serve as instructors and range safeties. The final piece of the puzzle location has been secured through the Alexandria Chapter of the Izaak Walton League. Founded in 1922, the Izaak Walton League is one of the earliest conservation organizations in America. More information on the League can be found at www.iwla.org. The Alexandria Chapter is a very active chapter with a beautiful piece of property featuring a clubhouse; outdoor archery, rifle/pistol, and shotgun ranges; stocked pond; hiking trails; and campsites. Only members and their guests have access to the complex. More information on the Alexandria Chapter can be found at www.iwla.us.
