Race Bulletin No1 Organisation This event is being organised by Manchester Ski Racing. Entry Criteria The Club National event is a special slalom of 2 runs down 2 different courses but the times will be combined to count for prizes but each run will be seeded separately. The event is open to registered racers in the following categories: Under 14, Under 16, Under 18, Under 21, Senior and Masters. Registered racers with no seed points are given priority over those with seed points. The Under 10 and Under 12's will ski 2 runs of the same course through stubbies, and is open to registered and un-registered racers born in 2006-2009. Open Practice There is no open practice Friday 21 st April. Competitors are able to ski on the slope by purchasing a lift pass from Chill Factor e at their published rates. These costs are set by Chill Factor e and Manchester Ski Racing has no influence over the cost and do not gain financially from this. From the 22 nd April at 4pm contact can only be made by phoning 07403 855 775. Start Order The start order will be drawn at the Jury meeting on Thursday 20 th April 2017 using the ibarts Seed List 2017.0 (indoor slope races) at the jury meeting and displayed on www.britski.org and on the official notice board on the morning of the race. For the first run the top 15 seeded competitors will be drawn with competitors seeded 16 onwards running in seed point order. The second run will start on reverse order. For the U10 / U12's in the first run, they will be randomly drawn with the girls going first followed be the boys. In the 2nd run the bib order will be reversed, girls going before the boys. Regulations / Race Rules / Health & Safety: The race will be run in accordance with FIS as varied by SSE and published in the British Artificial Competition Rules (BACR Book 1 dated Dec 2016). Helmets: Racers are reminded of the new helmet rules. Full details of the new requirements can be found at http://gbski.com/docstore/other/helmets%20for%20alpine%20ski%20racing%20v6.pdf. The U1O / U12 course will be run using stubbies and will not be seeded. The jury has decided that all courses for this event will be set with single pole gates in accordance with BACR Book 1 Version Dec 15. The Chill Factor e building will not be open until 7am on Sunday 23 rd April 2017. All racers are advised to read the race manual available at: www.gbski.com. Access to the slope is for officials and racers only. Coaches may accompany their racers during course inspection only but must be on skis or blades. Race trainers / coaches who accompany their racers must be qualified and carry the relevant accreditation issued by the race office on the day. Manchester Ski Racing cannot be held responsible for any competitor who does not abide by the Chill Factor e rules which results in the withdrawal of a competitors lift pass for the entire slope due to any infringement of the Chill Factor e rules. Chill Factor e staff will remove anyone skiing in an inconsiderate manner. Course Inspection The course must be inspected wearing skis and bibs with the number clearly visible. No racer is allowed to ski the course during inspection. Course inspection may start at any point on the course and racers must come to a complete stop between each gate when inspecting the course. Race trainers/coaches may accompany their racers provided they are qualified and carry the relevant accreditation issued by the race office on the day or prior to the race. No other people other than officials will be allowed to enter the race area. Protocol / Referee's Report / Protest: Protests against the Referee's Report must be made in writing on official forms, which will be available at the race office. These must be completed and handed in within the protest time following the publication of protocol, and accompanied by a fee of 25.00. Refunds Following entry to the race, a 10.00 refund will only be given to racers who cannot compete on production of a medical certificate. Race Bibs Race bibs must be returned to the Finish Marshall on completion of the final run. Failure to do so will result in a charge of 25.00 for each missing bib. Photography Racers who do not wish to be photographed by any accredited photographer must notify the Race Secretary in writing by the end of racer registration on the day of the race. Any parents wishing to take photographs MUST report to the race office prior to doing so. First Aid: First Aid cover will be available on the day by Chill Factor e slope staff. A medical assessment form will be on display on the official notice board. Notice Board The official race notice board will be located on the first floor outside the race office AND on the end wall of the changing cubicles in the racers area of the changing village. Catering / Refreshments Racers and families are reminded not to bring their own food in to Chill Factor e. Race Invitation and Bulletin No 1 (v1) Page 4 of 6

Chill Factor e Race Event Procedures CHANGING VILLAGE: Racers must only use the left hand side of the changing village. The benches on the right hand side of the changing village (airlock side) are assigned for other Chill Factor e guests to wait for their activity start time and to be collected by their instructor. Racers can also wait snow side, or in the Sports bar upstairs. Neither Chillfactor e nor Manchester Ski Racing accepts any responsibility for valuables and other items left unattended. BAGS: All racers bags must be stored in the lockers, training room, or bins provided on the left hand side of the changing village OR in the race office. Any bags left on or under benches in the changing village or blocking exits will be removed by Chill Factor e staff. SKI BOOTS: NO Ski or Snowboard boots are allowed upstairs at any time. All racers must remove their boots before they go upstairs in Chill Factore and place them into a bag to place their ski boots in to. TICKETS: Chill Factor e will issue a race ticket through MSR to each competitor at bib issue. These tickets MUST be used to gain access to the slope through the airlock doors in the changing village AT ALL TIMES. SKIS: Ski s must be stored in the ski racks provided by Chill Factor e at the bottom of the race side of the main slope. Skis must not at any time be left blocking any other snow side activity, entrance, and doorway or fire equipment. Access to skis store at the bottom of the slope with be for officials and racers wearing bids only. Any skis left not in the racks or on the correct race side of the main slope will be removed by Chill Factor e staff. BIBS: Race bibs issued to each racer must be worn at all times when in the changing village or snow side. They should be worn correctly and the number clearly visible to confirm your eligibility to be there. Spectators and competitors when not competing can wait and view the race from the Sports Bar or the balcony. Coaches who wish to accompany their racers for course inspection must obtain a lift pass from the race office, which should be used to access the slope through the air lock. Jumping over, climbing past or ducking under the turnstiles is not allowed under any circumstances. All of the food and drink outlets within Chill Factor e are franchised and not run by the Chill Factor e. Please do not consume your food and beverages within any of the tenants own cafes, restaurant seating areas or on the slope. Ski preparation is not permitted anywhere within the Chill Factor e building. Failure to comply could result in the Chill Factor e withdrawing your lift pass and/or excluding you from the building.
