Association of Idaho High School Swimming 2017 State Championship Meet Information Attached you will find the AIHSS Championship meet invitation. Meet entries are due Sunday, October 29, 2017, via electronic file. Please double check your entries. Once we receive your file and it has been entered into the system, no changes are allowed. You will receive confirmation that your entries were received. If you do not receive confirmation, email Ann Costello, apcostello99@gmail.com or call Ann (208)859-2676. Remember, we input the exact file that you submit! If you have USA swimmers, please include their registration numbers with the entry. AIHSS is not responsible for obtaining USA Swimming numbers for entrants. This meet is USAS observed. A psych sheet will posted Wednesday afternoon (11/1) on our website: www.offtheblocks.org/idahohighschoolswimming Please check to see that your team has been entered. Once this is posted, the only change allowed is if an entire team was somehow missed. No individual changes or substitutions. The meet format and awards will remain the same as last year, team awards for 5A, 4A, and 3-1A both girls and boys will be given. Please review relay qualification at District on the event page. This is a change from previous years. Because of the limited number of 3-1A schools with relays, all 3-1A relays that swim a verified time at District will be eligible for State, one entry per school. Each head coach will be allowed one assistant coach on deck with them in the coach area. Please provide the name of your assistant coach with your entries so that we can make them a name badge. Coach and assistant coach for each team will need a badge to be on deck. There will be a coaches meeting on Friday, November 3, at 11:30A.M. in the hospitality room. One coach from each team must attend. You will need to pay for entries and t-shirts before coming to the meeting. You can do this at the entrance to the meeting room. T-shirt information is coming this week. Deadline is 10/25. Everyone is asked to use the southeast door to enter the pool. Please do not have your teams use the main doors. I will let you know when teams can enter the pool area to set up, when I have that information. Warm-ups for District III will be at 12:00-12:40. Districts I, II, IV, V, and IV will warm-up from 12:40-1:20. District III must be out of the pool at 12:40. Lane assignments will be given at the coaches meeting. Please have your swimmers set up on the deck, and all spectators in the bleachers. We will allow swimmer s coolers on the deck, but not in the bleachers. If spectators are bringing coolers, there is a covered area outside the southeast entrance where they can leave them. No glass allowed. Spectators will not be allowed on deck. No lawn chairs on deck. Please advise your team of this policy. Thank you in advance for informing swimmers and parents. This will be strictly enforced. There will be a mandatory meeting on Saturday November 4, at 8:30 A.M. for coaches to meet Julie Hammons, IHSAA Assistant Director. Julie will explain how the 2018 Idaho High School State Swimming Championship will change from the 2017 format, and answer any questions concerning rules and sanctioning. Safe travels to all participants. We are looking forward to seeing you in November! Thank you, Julie Prince, Association of Idaho High School Swimming

Relays will qualify at their District Meet. Please see chart below for automatic qualification per classification and District. Qualifying schools can only enter one relay per relay event. Prelims and finals are considered as one meet. Please remember this if you are switching swimmers on relays. Coaches will be given relay cards in their coaches packets available at the coaches meeting at 11:30 a.m. at the pool on Friday, November 3. One coach from each team must attend the meeting. Relay swimmers will carry their card to the blocks with them. This is a pre-seeded no card meet for all other events. The scratch rule will be enforced for the consolation and final heats. Swimmers will have 30 minutes from the time the results are announced to declare their intention to scratch with the Clerk of Course. If a swimmer does not declare a scratch and is not at the starting block when the official closes the heat, the swimmer will be disqualified for the remainder of the meet. This includes relay events. Entries: $18.00 per swimmer (including relay only swimmers). Fees matching the entries are to be paid at the table outside the Hospitality Room before the coaches meeting. One check per team!
