LOWER SCHOOL UNIFORM Girls Form 1 4 The school weekday uniform consists of: School blazer School kilt Black tights or socks (knee high) Nude tights and ankle length black socks can be worn in the Trinity Term Smart black polished shoes with a low heel and thick soles (suitable for inclement weather) White shirt (Michaelmas & Lent) White open neck blouse (Trinity) (optional) School House tie Plain Black V-neck pullover (optional) Blue or black coat When in uniform girls should not wear make-up or jewellery (with the exception of one small silver stud per earlobe). Hair must be neat and tidy and off the face, and should not be dyed in an unnatural colour or highlighted. Hair must be off the face. Boys may not wear jewellery. Hair should be tied back fully for games and science lessons Please note most items are available for purchase at the school uniform shop. The shop is open every Mondays 16.00 17.00 during term time. UPPER SCHOOL DRESS CODE The Fifth and Sixth Form dress code is smart country wear to reflect our heritage and geography. For both boys and girls a smart country jacket twinned with formal trousers /skirt will convey our sense of purpose and identity. For all pupils a sharp distinction is drawn between the formal wear of the working day and more relaxed wear at other times. Boys should be clean-shaven. Girls makeup in the Sixth Form should be discreet and only conservative nail varnish may be worn. BOYS A smart tweed jacket and in the summer a sports blazer may be worn Trousers should be smart with a central crease, slashed pockets and either grey, black, brown or blue Lighter coloured trousers are acceptable in the Trinity term A conservative suit may also be worn Shirts should be tailored with bones in the collar Jumpers should be smart, V-necked and without patterns A tie should be worn Shoes should be smart, brown or black in colour and polished Coats should be smart and conservative in style Jeans, jean-like trousers, and skinny fit and washed out chinos are not appropriate, ties should not be of the novelty type and casual shoes not worn. Hair should be smart and off the collar, it should not be dyed in an unnatural colour. A discreet stud is permitted in one earlobe. GIRLS A smart tweed jacket and in the summer a lighter blazer may be worn Trousers should be smart and either grey, black, brown or blue Lighter coloured trousers are acceptable in the Trinity Term Skirts / dresses should be tailored and sit a palm width above the knee or longer. They should be grey, black, brown or blue A lighter coloured skirt may be worn in the Trinity term A conservative suit may also be worn Shirts / blouses, with sleeves, should be tailored Jumpers should be smart and without patterns A tie or pashmina may be worn Shoes should be brown or black; if boots are worn they should be smart Coats should be smart and conservative in style Jeggings, jean-like trousers, body-con skirts / dresses and thin strapped tops are not appropriate, casual dress is not suitable for Sixth Form attire. Plain jewellery is permitted; piercings should be restricted to the earlobe (stud or hoop), with a maximum of two in each.
