Swim Instructor at The Beach & Tennis Club Frank Reynolds comes to The Beach Club with over 25 years of experience in aquatics and over a decade in coaching all levels. Frank has been a competitive swimmer since the age of five, and a water polo player since the age of eight, Frank s passion for aquatics are hereditary. His grandfather, the late Frank Sr., is the oldest man to swim from Catalina Island to mainland California (26 miles), while his father, Edward, holds several relay records including a swim from Scotland to Ireland. Frank was a two time NCAA Champion, All-American, and Team Captain in water polo at UC Berkeley. Frank also coaches water polo at the high school and club level throughout the area. Frank brings to the pool deck a passion for coaching and the determination to help members of all levels achieve their personal goals... and do it with a smile! The 52nd Annual Don Bering Cup The Beach Club vs. The Olympic Club May 23 & 24, 2015 You are invited to play in our annual Member/Guest Tournament. Be part of the longest running exchange between two clubs west of the Mississippi! This event is a highlight on the tennis calendar and one of those, must attend events. The Don Bering Cup is scheduled for Memorial Day Weekend - this year s event one will be one to remember. The format is simple 80 matches played over two days showcasing Men s Women s and Mixed Doubles. Each match played counts as one point. The first club to reach 41 points will have their clubs name engraved on the cup. The cup stays on display at the winning club for the rest of the year until the next playing of The Don Bering Cup. Last year the Olympic Club won the cup by a mere 3 matches! With hard work and well played tennis The Don Bering Cup will come back to The Beach Club in 2015! This year we will be offering eight weeks of camps, with the first week of camp kicking off on Monday, June 22nd. Each camp will be co-directed by USPTA certified tennis professionals, Bill Quario, Head Tennis Professional, and Kie Foreman, Director of Tennis, This year Associate Tennis Professional Tom Moore will be involved with the camps. Joining Kie, Bill, and Tom will be a full staff of talented camp counselors. The camps will run Monday through Friday from 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Junior players of all skill levels, ages 5-17, are welcome.
