N aturally, when The Morgan Horse asked us to do a photo essay we, of course, had to say, yes! We have so many great photos from over the years and, since Morgans do so many things, we asked if we could include shots of everything. There are many great memories that go along with these photos. Like Tim Morrell and DRF Sea Wolf doing a carriage class in a huge rain-storm at New England. We remember the infield was flooded so all you could see was a pond of water and red cones sticking up out of it. We re sure many of you can remember heavy rainstorms at New England. When shooting a horse show, rain and water is one thing that you must always be prepared for, but we have a great water shot that was taken during a photo shoot at the farm of Neal Perry located in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Believe us when we say, this is God s country and it s wild and usually on the cool side. This particular weekend we brought the camper and decided to just shoot Neal at his best. He had a small pond between his house and barn and it looked like a great location to take a few photos. Photos by Denlore We mentioned to Neal that having him on his horse, Chadwick s Benjamin in the pond would make a great photo, but that it was way too cold to ask anyone to get into freezing water. Before we knew what was happening, Neal and Ben were headed into the pond with cold water filling every space it could fill as they headed deeper into the pond. The expectation of getting that perfect shot is always there: The shot that takes your breath away and draws attention whenever it is shown. It may be a photo of excitement from The Morgan Mile Trotting Races as two Morgans race nose to nose down that famous road or it might be a photo of beauty as a Morgan in harness preforms flawlessly in a competitive event. Morgans can do it all and we have the photos to prove it! We hope you enjoy what we have presented and we hope we can shoot Morgans for many years to come. Dennis and Laura Tatro have bred Morgans at Denlore Morgan Farm since 1986 and stand at stud the 20 year old Denlore s Desert Storm. Visit them at www.denlorephoto.com The Morgan Horse 49
