MATCH 26: Any Historic centrefire rifle fitted with a telescopic sight 1st 26 C Ward 140 38 Winchester 1894 (tb: 140.9) 2nd 26 J Hooker 137 38/357 1894 Winchester AE This was the second year of running the Historic Miniature Rifle event on the Winans range. The quality of shooting was higher than last year, with many scores of 140/140. The two inch bullseye scoring seven is perhaps too easy for a rested rifle at 25 yards. I have resolved these ties by placing a 2.00 coin over the centre of the fired cards, and then adding 0.1 points to all invisible shots. It seems to work, and my decision is final! Please check your results carefully, especially the class entered and the rifle details. HBSA Prize Certificates will be posted out to winners in the next few weeks. The scores show that having a scope sight does not give any advantage in scores, as we have found in our HBSA April Rook rifle shoot. I must thank my helpers Linda and Mike Welsh, plus Neil Roberts for preparing the scores. If anyone wants their shot cards for the record, I can post them out if you send me a big SAE. All comments about improvements, and offers of help for future years will be gratefully received. Allan Kirk 20-Aug-15
