Mommy & Me, Music & Movement, Hip Hop Tots, Creative Movement / Dance/ Combo, all level 1/2 recreational classes and Showcase Production. Class moms will assist IDA staff with the following: Assist dancers during dress rehearsals & show day in the Green rooms, potty patrol, escort dancers to & from backstage / dressing room. Escort dancers to dancer pick up after the final bow. To volunteer please sign up here, or visit IDA s Website for a direct link to Class Mom Sign Up. All Class Moms will be able to watch their dancers from reserved seats day of recital you will not need a ticket. Tickets: Each Youth recreational, IDAC & IDAT participant in the recital will receive 2 complimentary tickets (wristbands) to the show. These wristbands will be passed out at Dress Rehearsal at WHS Mon., May 7th & Tues., May 8th when you check in your dancer. You MUST sign for these, IDA will not be responsible for lost wristbands after pick up. Additional Tickets: Pre-Sale tickets are available, starting April 19 th, through tutu-tickets for $10 + a convenience fee per tutu-tickets. Recital performers and class mom volunteers do not need a ticket for the show. Page 3 Dancer Appearance Dancers must follow the guidelines below & be in their class required hair style, make-up, costume, & accessories for ALL dress rehearsals, photos & day of performance. Make-Up: Girls must wear light make-up so faces do not get washed out by the bright stage lights. Use a lipstick with a red hue and a blush with a pink hue. Eye make up must to be done in natural colors such as brown tones. Do not use bright color eye shadow such as blues or greens. Mascara and eyeliner must be to be worn for class levels 2/3 and up. Older dancers will need to wear foundation and powder as well as make up listed above. Hair: Note the required hair style for girls in each class below. All boys must have their hair neatly styled. All bangs & loose hair must be pulled back as it will cast a shadow on dancer s face under the stage lights. Use hairspray, gel, and bobby pins for short hair, bangs or layered hair. Ballet Classes Level 1/2 through 5/6- Dancers must have hair in high neat bun. Pre-Dance Classes: Including Mommy & Me, Music & Movement, Creative Movement/ Dance/ Combo: Dancers must have hair half up / half down. All Hip Hop Classes level 1/2 through 5/6: Dancers must have hair half up/half down. Jazz Classes and Tap Classes Level 1/2 through 5/6: Dancers must have hair in high ponytail. Lyrical / Contemporary Level 4/5 Class: Dancers must have hair in high bun. IDAB: Dancer must wear Company hair IDA Company & Team Dancers: Dancers must wear Company/Team hair style for their classes unless they are in a ballet class or another recreation class, then dancers must wear their hair per the requirements above. Other: NO underwear is to be worn under tights. Young youth dancers may wear pull up if necessary. NO nail polish of any color is to be worn. NO jewelry of any kind is to be worn. (exception for IDA Company & Team dancers) Costumes: Costumes to be passed out with IDA Swag Bag week of April 30th. Costume information sheet is included in the swag bags. Please read this carefully for care instructions as well as required tights & shoe information for each class. You are responsible for any alterations that may have to be made for proper fit of your costume. IDA is NOT responsible for lost / stolen items from bag. Please keep track of all accessories and pieces for your costume. Write dancers name or initials in all costume items and shoes. If your dancer s class did not have a costume ordered (see list below), you will receive an individual email regarding your dancer s attire for their costume. Arrival: Dress Rehearsal at Westfield High School: Monday, May 7 th & Tuesday, May 8 th All classes have one day / time scheduled for staging & dress rehearsal at WHS. There are NO classes held at IDA Monday, May 7 th Thursday, May 10 th.* All dancers need to arrive at Westfield High School full costume, hair, make-up, tights, shoes & accessories. Enter through Door 5 into the Auditorium Lobby. You MUST check in at the DANCER CHECK-IN TABLE before heading into the auditorium. Your dancer s two complimentary tickets will be passed out at the time of check in A parent / guardian must sign for ticket wristbands. IDA is not responsible for lost or stolen wristbands. Dancers will proceed to the auditorium into a reserved row for their class. Dancers MUST stay in their assigned rows until it is their turn to rehearse on stage. Parents and siblings who you like to watch dress rehearsal at WHS must sit in balcony. During the Rehearsal: Each class is scheduled for a time slot to allow time for staging, rehearsing with music, & final bow run-through. Your dancer MUST stay for the entire time slot below. Parents will be permitted to sit in the parent section of the auditorium. For the safety of the dancers there will be NO PHOTOGRAPHY OR VIDEO ALLOWED IN AUDITORIUM DURING THIS REHEARSAL. Page 9 Arrival: Day of Recital: Saturday, May 19, 2018 Dancers MUST arrive 30 min prior to the start of their Act in full costume, hair, make-up, tights, shoes & accessories to WHS. There is not a dressing room to get your dancer ready. Each dancer should enter through Door 5 into the Auditorium Lobby and check in at the DANCER CHECK-IN TABLE. Dancers will be escorted into the performers room with their class. All Dancers will remain in the care of IDA Staff until after their final bow at finale. See departure information below for dancer pick up. Make sure your child s name or initials are in every costume item and dance shoes. Auditorium Doors will open to the public 20 minutes before the Act begins. There is NO assigned seating; first come, first served. During the Performance: If your dancer is in multiple dances in the same Act (including showcase) you are responsible to help them change costumes. You must meet your dancer back in their Green Room immediately following their first dance to help them change into their next costume and then return to your seat in the auditorium. To respect our dancers who are on stage please do not enter and exit the auditorium while a dance in on stage, wait to exit in-between dances. Dancers will not be released for any reason before the finale of the act that they are participating in. THIS IS FOR THE SAFTEY & SECURITY OF OUR DANCERS. Departure: After the Act is over, dancers will be escorted to a designated section of the cafeteria to DANCER PICK UP per class, to meet their adoring fans. Please double check that you leave with all personal belongings. Please give IDA Staff time and space to get dancers organized for pick up. Each Class will perform in one of the following acts: Act 1 11:00am: dancers arrive at 10:30am Act 2 1:30pm: dancers arrive at 1:00pm Act 3 4:15pm: dancers arrive at 3:45pm Act 4 6:45pm: dancers arrive at 6:15pm Flowers, Concessions & Silent Auction: Pink roses are available for you to pre-order for your dancer's special day. Sign up for either a 3 or 6 rose spray and we will have them for you to pick up the day of recital at the flower booth. Pre-Orders will be available until May 2, 2018. Cost: 3 spray $12.00 / 6 spray $20.00 A limited number of flowers will be available the day of recital for purchase.
