A contingent of 152 players (four open qualifying positions will complete the field of 156 players on Monday, June 30) with 10 alternates are listed below. The Greenbrier Classic will take place from June 30 - July 6, 2014 at The Greenbrier, the classic American resort in White Sulphur Springs, WV. Some of the most recent commitments to the top flight field at The Greenbrier Classic include FedExCup points leader Jimmy Walker, 2011 PGA Championship winner Keegan Bradley and rising star Patrick Reed. Additionally, amateur Brian Anania has accepted an exemption into this year s field by way of his victory in the 95 th West Virginia Amateur on June 13, 2014. Walker, 35, is enjoying a career year on the PGA TOUR. He broke through with his first TOUR victory at this season s Frys.com Open and has since won two more times. His eight top-10 finishes and nearly $5 million in earnings so far during the 2013-14 season are both career-bests for the Texas resident, as are his top position in the FedExCup rankings and his No. 17 ranking in the world. Walker will be looking for his fourth top-10 finish in his fifth start at the 2014 Greenbrier Classic. He finished in a tie for second place last year to go with T4 finishes in 2010 and 2011. His scoring average on The Old White TPC Course is 67.71 and he has tournament earnings of $868,200.
Page 2 Bradley, 28, is one of the brightest young stars on the PGA TOUR. He has recorded 25 top-10 finishes since 2010, with a career-best seven top-10s in 2013. The Jupiter, Fla., resident is a fierce competitor that was a member of the U.S. squads for the 2012 Ryder Cup and 2013 Presidents Cup matches. Bradley has finished atop the leaderboard on three occasions on TOUR, winning his first major championship in 2011 at The PGA Championship. He is currently No. 24 in the Official World Golf Ranking and No. 21 in FedExCup points. Bradley will be making his third start at this year s Classic. His best finish at The Greenbrier Classic came in 2011 where he finished in a tie for 43 rd place. His career tournament earnings are $36,149.20 and his scoring average is 69.38. Reed, 23, burst onto the scene as a rookie in 2013, and he recorded his first-career top-10 finish in just his 19 th start. Before the season concluded Reed added four more top-10s to his resume, including his first PGA TOUR victory at the 2013 Wyndham Championship. Reed has remained hot in 2014, posting two victories and seven top-25 finishes over 18 events. His solid play has launched him into the ninth spot in the FedExCup standings and to his current place at No. 29 in the Official World Golf Ranking. The Texas native will be making his second start at The Greenbrier Classic. He missed the cut in 2013 after opening rounds of 70-72 and a scoring average of 71.00. Anania, from Hurricane WV, fired a final round even par 70 on The Old White TPC Course at The Greenbrier to capture the 95 th West Virginia Amateur by two strokes. The Marshall University graduate and Division 1 PING All-Midwest Team selection finally broke through with the victory after top-10 finishes in the West Virginia Amateur the past three years, including a runner up outing in 2013. With the victory Anania received an exemption to compete in next week s The Greenbrier Classic. We are very proud to annually offer an exemption into The Greenbrier Classic to the winner of the amateur champion of our great state of West Virginia, said Jim Justice, owner of The Greenbrier. I have a special place in my heart for amateur athletes and I m looking forward to watching Brian compete against one of the top fields on the PGA TOUR next week at The Old White TPC Course.
