TOURNAMENT PURSE Since the tournament s inception in 2003, the Wells Fargo Championship has offered one of the largest purses on TOUR. This year, players competed for a $6,900,000 purse. This year s champion, J.B. Holmes, earned $1,242,000. Following the first two rounds of competition, the field is reduced to the low 70 scores and ties. All players who make the cut are eligible for a share of the purse. This year 73 players made the 36-hole cut. Jim Herman finished 73rd in the final standings and earned $13,386. 4 2014 WELLS FARGO CHAMPIONSHIP

PERSEVERANCE HELPS HOLMES COLLECT HIS THIRD PGA TOUR VICTORY On his 71st hole of the Wells Fargo Championship, J.B. Holmes sank a 9-foot par putt that proved to be necessary and critical in securing a personal comeback and a victory that will long be remembered. It was a beautiful day for golf and the thousands of fans who lined the fairway. And, it was an even better day for a wonderful story of perseverance for one of the most popular players in the game. It has been a long road back for the Kentucky native. Since his last victory in 2008 Holmes has endured two brain surgeries, a broken ankle that kept him away from competitive golf for a year, and surgery for tennis elbow. There were days he had to go to rehab twice, then to acupuncture, then to his workout. He s worked so hard to get to where he is. The par putt provided the margin he needed as he stood over a 3-foot putt for bogey on the final hole in the fading sun. He made the putt and earned a one-stroke victory over past champion Jim Furyk and his first win on the PGA TOUR since 2008. Holmes said he felt confident over the putt at 17, a left-to-right breaker he faced after chipping short. Yeah, that was huge, said Holmes, who collected his third PGA TOUR win. It gave me a two shot lead going into the last hole, and then that was big. So I felt comfortable over that putt. I felt like I was going to make it, and I had a good stroke and it went in. TOURNAMENT RECAP 5

While Phil Mickelson may have had an inconsistent four rounds of scoring during the tournament, he did manage to tie Stewart Cink in greens in regulation. The two led the field in that stats category, hitting the greens in regulation 72.22 percent of the time. Jim Furyk, the 2006 champion of the Wells Fargo Championship, had perhaps the best statistical performance on his way to solo second. He led the field in scrambling, was second in driving accuracy, ninth in strokes gained/putting and 10th in greens in regulation. On his way to victory, J.B. Holmes was far ahead of the field in driving distance during the week with a 333.9 average for four rounds. Gary Woodland was second with a 315.3 average. Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy were third and fourth, respectively. 6 2014 WELLS FARGO CHAMPIONSHIP

To complete this task, it requires over 75 Scouts and family supporters. For their efforts, the Wells Fargo Championship makes a donation to each respective Troop. CONCESSION STANDS & FOOD SERVICE VOLUNTEERS During tournament, Charlotte area nonprofit organizations volunteer to staff on-course concessions and drink stands, as well as select corporate hospitality areas. In 2014, over 21 non-profit groups, and over 400 of their volunteers were utilized to fulfill this important guest services role. For their efforts, they collectively earned a total donation from the tournament of over $128,000. This reflects an 18% increase over 2013 results. FIRST TEE OF CHARLOTTE CADDIE FOR A DAY In cooperation with The First Tee of Charlotte, over 50 members of The First Tee of Charlotte between the ages of 6 and 18 were given the opportunity to caddie for a PGA TOUR professional for at least two holes during the Wednesday Pro-Am. Succeeding Together is a national community program created by Wells Fargo to celebrate the importance of having a coach or mentor in the lives of America s youth. The company hosts events, including at the Wells Fargo Championship, to bring this message to life for the thousands of students enrolled in The First Tee, a World Golf Foundation program that builds character through golf at nearly 200 local chapters across the U.S. During the 2014 Wells Fargo Championship, Wells Fargo hosted the fifth annual Succeeding Together event in Charlotte. The event featured five of the PGA TOUR s top young players who talked, read, and golfed with the students enrolled at The First Tee of Charlotte s after-school program. The pro golfers in attendance included: 2013 Wells Fargo Championship winner Derek Ernst J.J. Henry Morgan Hoffman Scott Langley (a former student of The First Tee) Webb Simpson The golfers and students took turns reading pages from the book My Name Is Not Alexander, which was followed by an interactive golf skills clinic. Wells Fargo also presented a donation of $100,000 to The First Tee of Charlotte to help support the continued growth of the organization. 24 2014 WELLS FARGO CHAMPIONSHIP

SUCCEEDING TOGETHER 2014 Succeding Together Grand Prize winner, Alejandra Ayala, enjoys playing along side PGA TOUR superstar Rory McIlroy. As part of the national expansion of the Succeeding Together program, Wells Fargo again offered the 30,000-plus teenage participants of The First Tee in the U.S. the chance to submit a video essay about a coach or mentor in their life that has helped them succeed. This year s Grand Prize winner, 14-yearold Alejandra Ayala from Atlanta, won the opportunity to play the Quail Hollow Club with PGA TOUR superstar Rory McIlroy during the Wells Fargo Championship s Pro-Am. Ayala and the three other contest winners selected by judges from Wells Fargo, The First Tee, and the Wells Fargo Championship tournament office each received a four-day, three-night tournament experience. Ayala entered the 2013 Succeeding Together contest but was not a winner. She showed perseverance (one of the nine core values of The First Tee program) in creating a new video which took this year s top award. In her video, Ayala demonstrated how one of her mentors at The First Tee of Atlanta encouraged her to make her own decisions and be independent, but to also be accountable for her actions.
