The Jim Flick Invitational is the continuation of an event that began as the TaylorMade Invitational in 1992. For the past 25 years, golf professionals, their amateur partners and guests have been joining Championship Golf and a host of tournament sponsors to an event that is truly a celebration. The tournament was transformed in 2016 in order to reflect our desire to honor and remember Mr. Jim Flick, a man who meant so much not only to the event, but to the game of golf as a whole. participate with 180 amateur partners over 72-holes at the majestic Cabo del Sol Golf Club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Professionals compete for $100,000.00 in prize money while their amateur partners enjoy a truly in paradise. Participants are treated to 5-nights at the Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos, 72-holes of golf, all meals, drinks, parties, ground transportation, welcome gifts, awards, entertainment, and a host of special events. THE JIM FLICK LOUNGE This tented area on the range is the perfect area to relax after the round. Enjoy lunch, beer, margaritas, and maybe a cigar or two. Check out the giant scoreboard, catch up with fellow competitors, listen to music and work on your game at the extensive driving range and putting greens. MASSAGE TENT At a nearby tent you can work out some of the kinks with a neck massage from professional masseuses provided by the Fiesta Americana Spa.

Two amazing trips will be presented at the final awards banquet. Every participant can qualify for the drawing on the driving range each day. The opening party is a spectacular seaside affair. Our tournament band The Championship All-Star Band features entertainers from throughout the world as the week kicks off in style with food, limitless libations, music and dancing. This special event is held in the ballroom alongside the 5th fairway of the Ocean Course. The fun begins with dining and welcoming special guests to celebrate the life and times of Jim Flick. Later we will present the Jim Flick Trophy to this year s recipient. Bob will regale us with stories about Jim, and his life in the golfing world. The evening concludes with a live auction filled with bucket list items galore. Last year s recipient was Jim s most famous student. His son Jackie played in our event and was on hand to accept the award for his dad. The final evening awards gala is held on Saturday night following the final tournament round. This special event is also held seaside, and the band rocks into the night. Tournament awards are presented to winners in all flight divisions and the evening always proves to be truly memorable after an enjoyable and epic event. How could it be any better? Championship Golf began operations of the TaylorMade Invitational from 1992 2015 and continues the operation of the Jim Flick Invitational. Mark King is the former CEO of TaylorMade Golf. He is currently the President of the adidas Group North America. Mark is also a highly sought out motivational speaker and member of the Washington Speakers Bureau. Tournament Format: The Jim Flick Invitational is four-person team event. Each team consists of an invited professional and three amateur partners. The professional plays for $100,000 in prize money. The professional receives prize money based on the individual 72-hole competition AND the position of the team at the end of the tournament. The team position of the event is a best-ball gross PLUS best-ball net competition. Flight Divisions: The field is divided into four flights. These flights are based on the combined handicaps of the amateur partners (pros play at scratch). Tournament awards are presented to the winners in each flight, along with the overall team championship award. Handicaps: All amateurs play according to their low handicap index for the year. A handicap chart is posted on the tournament website. This calculates to approximately 85% if their course handicap. Courses and Pairings: Each team will play two rounds on the Ocean Course and two rounds on the Desert Course at Cabo del Sol Club de Golf. Pairings for the 1 st two rounds will be available at check-in. Pairings for the final two rounds will be determined by position in the field, and the leaders will be playing in the later tee times on the final round. Pairings for Friday and Saturday will be posted the previous evening at the hotel. The tee times begin at approximately 7am, and the final group tees off at noon each day. The driving range is open at sunrise (about 6:15am). Note: Shuttles run daily between the Grand Fiesta Americana Hotel and Cabo del Sol Club de Golf. Participant s golf clubs will be managed and on carts upon arrival at the course each day. Rules: USGA rules, and local rules apply. A full rules sheet will be available at check-in. Pace of Play: It is vital that teams maintain a reasonable pace of play for the enjoyment and equity of everyone. Professionals need to insure tournament staff that their team is able to, and will maintain a pace of play, keeping up with the group in front of them throughout the round. Approximately 50% based on the professionals 72-hole individual score, and 50% based on the team total score for the event. This fee is reduced by $250 for each guest brought by your amateur partners. If all three amateurs bring a non-golfing guest, the professional s guest is complimentary. 1. Entries must be submitted by the golf professional. Entry form is provided. 2. Tournament entry must be submitted with a minimum of $6,000 team deposit. 3. Checks only, made payable to Championship Golf, Credit cards not accepted. 4. Professional must sign Team Entry Form, noting acceptance of entry rules and terms. 5. Professional will be notified as to team acceptance in the field following entry. 6. Acceptance is only provisional until final amateur entry payments have been received. 7. Teams may be placed on a waitlist. The full field is limited to first 60 teams entered. The Jim Flick Invitational is a team event. Individual cancellations are not accepted. The team consists of four players. If an individual cancels, this individual must be replaced by the team. There is NO REFUND for an individual cancellation. If the team is unable to replace a player, the team may play with three players or an effort will be made to fill the spot with a local player. If t his happens, it is understood and agreed that there will be NO REFUND, and this is the responsibility of the team to sort of out any financial ramifications. If the team cancels and is unable to be replaced, the following refund policy applies: Prior to July 1, 2017 Full refund for the ream and each individual Between July 1 and August 15, 2017 50% refund applies for each team member After August 15, 2017 No refunds will be issued to the team or individuals Following July 1, a team may cancel and be eligible to receive a full refund if the team is replaced by a waitlisted team.
