Holly Duffy GM Grade 1 Champion Delighted to announce that Holly Duffy won the Greater Manchester Grade 1 competition and is one of 4 SSoG gymnasts selected to represent the county in the Regional finals. All SSoG gymnasts passed their grade, most with a distinction. In March we host a 4 piece competition for the Competition Squad gymnasts at the Newby Rd. centre. The new term has started for all classes and we hope that all goes smoothly with the new registration and invoicing system. Any mistakes will be quickly corrected. The recent holiday can was very busy, especially for the Open Play sessions so we have added a Wednesday Parent and Toddle Class from 9.30 to 10.30. Details are online. The new invoicing system This is so dull and not central to delivering gymnastics, but we do hope that it will make things easier for all customers as well as for our staff. The main benefits is that you will now be able to pay online using debit and credit cards as well as the current BACs payment. We hope you will find this useful. The new system works on the Parent/Guardian being a cus- SSoG Calendar 2017 5th Mar Stockport Rec 4 Piece Comp at Newby Rd. This is a changed date as it was due to be the week before but the booking was not available. Keep up to date on the website. tomer. We haven t asked for this information before so it is very likely that we have got the name on the invoice wrong. We have tried to guess a few names from the email address, but where we have no information we have put unknown. Also we have defaulted the customer name to be the same as the gymnast name. This too in many cases may not be correct. Essentially if any of the information isn t right, then please let us know and we will correct it. Email Address The invoices will be sent out by email and there will be a paper copy available. We don t have email addresses for all members and some don t quite look right. Let us know if you are not getting the invoices by email and we will correct your email address. Discounts We have simplified the discounts to fit with the way that the new system works. They are similar in most cases to the discounts we currently offer. Leisure Key Members of the SMBC Leisure scheme get 1 per class per child. More than 1 Class A discount of 10% for the second class. Siblings 10% discount off all classes if there are 2 or more children receiving classes. BACs Payments If you want to pay by BACs this is still available. Please note that EziPayment 5 easy steps for payment 1. Make sure we have your email address and it is correct. 2. The invoice is sent to you by email with a link. 3. You click on the link and it takes you to the payment site. 4. You pay by credit or debit card. 5. We see the payment in a few minutes and your account is cleared. Easy! you do not have a SSoG Account Number anymore so you will need to add the invoice number as a reference. The system fully integrates with our bank so we should see the BACs payments much quicker than before so we won t be chasing you when you have already paid. Cash/Cheques We still accept cash and cheques for the time being. Future Developments The system has a customer portal, which will allow you to look at your details and see your child s progress. We will get everything else working first before we go live. Please bear with us and be patient if we make mistakes. Once the initial stages are sorted we hope that it will give us some big gains with class organisation. Page 2

Greater Manchester Grades What a great weekend for the club with all entered gymnasts passing their grade. Congratulations to Ellen Ijima, Jenna Kenyon, Charlotte Wells and Holly Duffy who have been selected to train with the Greater Manchester Squad. Grade 1 Holly Duffy, Champion and Team member, Charlotte Wells and Jenna Kenyon, Team Members, Anna Marsh, Charlotte Cleaver and Caitlin Mathieson Grade 2 Elyce Pearson Grade 4 Molly Coghlan, Gabby Widdall Grade 5 Lola Ardley, Thea Klopper, Ciera Mooney and Ellen Ijima, Team Member Grade 6 Bella Gnatiuk, Amelia Le Fondre Page 3

Pre-School It was the end of the term and all of the Pre-School gymnasts were presented with certificates based on the skills learnt in the last 6 weeks. Well done! Holiday Camp The February Half Term Holiday Camp was busy with the normal full day camps, tumbling and half day camps. The interesting ones were the Friday Open Play sessions, when in the morning we had just under 60 children turn up over the 3 hour slot. Great to see the gym so full. It looks like there could be an increased demand at that age (under 5) so we are putting on an extra Parent and Toddler class on a Wednesday morning from 9.30 to 10.30. No need to book, just turn up and pay on the door. Gymnast of the Month The gymnast of the month for January was Ellen Ijima with the highest number of stars for new moves, good training attitude and gymnast of the week stars. Well done Ellen. The excellent January turned into a great February coming 2nd in the in age Club Grade 6 competition, gaining a distinction and making the Greater Manchester team for the Regional Finals. Phew. Schools Competition During January we hosted the Stockport Schools Key Steps finals. Over 2 days more than 100 children from local schools competed on Floor, Vault and Body Management. Many thanks to SSoG staff for helping on the day and judging. Coaching Success Congratulations to 5 SSoG young coaches who passed their Level 1 Women s Artistic Coaching Assessments. Thanks to mentors, who helped with the log books, drawing high praise from the BG Assessor on the support they had given. Well done Ella Cleaver, Anya Hooley, Rebecca Flynn, Izzy Blissett and Leah Kidd. Page 4

Grades Pictures Other News A big thanks to 2 new volunteer dads, Steve Douglas and Steve McClernon, who have fixed the gym door closers and plastered the hole kicked in the dance studio wall by the Street Dance class. You don t have to be called Steve to help out, just have some spare time to complete jobs. The way that we are doing the BG Proficiency badge scheme has changed. Instead of having one week when we do badges, we will do them more regularly as there was an inevitability that your child would be away or ill on the one week of the year when it was Baga badge time. All the badges scheme charts and gymnast folders are now displayed in the gym. The Sainsbury s Active Kids scheme is on again and we are collecting. Please hand in tokens at Reception. Page 5
