Golf News & Events A Note from your Course Superintendent Fall is coming and it s time for the summer to wind down. The grass will begin slowing its growth and start storing food for winter. This month, we will be putting our Fall Fertilizer/Preemerge down, which is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22 nd, to fertilize the entire course. We always work hard to schedule this type of maintenance on a Monday to avoid any inconvenience, but unfortunately the spread company did not have any open Mondays to accommodate us. Our intent, to best accommodate member play, is to arrange for play on the back nine while we fertilize the front, and then switch, moving play to the front nine while we fertilize the back. Once the Fall Fertilizer is spread, the course will be Cart Path Only for the remainder of the 22nd as well as on the 23rd. This is in the best interests of the condition of the course, keeping the carts from burning the grass with the fertilizer. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause and appreciate your flexibility! In exciting news, we have received all the materials needed to repair the bunker at #15 green, and we will begin this repair work the week of August 31st September 4th. It should only take a few days. We need to remove the sand, the rotten liner, the old gravel, and inspect the drain lines. Afterward, we will install new gravel, liners, and sand. We will do this incrementally each day so that we can keep the course in good shape while working on the bunker. Thank you for your patience on this project! I hope to see y all out on the course! Briane Faletto, GCS Class A Superintendent Ladies & Juniors Clinics! We are excited to offer ladies and juniors clinics! These clinics are held on Tuesdays from 5pm 6pm. Ladies $10 Juniors free Please call the pro shop for more details or email Carl McNeill at golfprofessional@brickyardgolf.com Thank you for helping us maintain the beauty of the Brickyard golf course! Please repair ball marks on green. Rake bunkers after your shot. Use 90 degree rule (it helps fairways). Please register yourself and guests before going out to play golf. Please check with Jim Hickman or Carl McNeill before playing a five-some. Thanks and happy golfing! Lockers are available for the 2015 Season! Contact the pro-shop for availability. $72.00 billed semi - annually Rental includes locker and club storage Guest Fee Structure: Guest passes (3 passes per month for $45) are monthly and cannot be rolled over; they must be used in the month assigned and cannot be moved from future months to present month. Member & Guest Reminders Any previous members who have resigned within the last 24 months are not eligible to take advantage of these special rates; they will be charged the regular rate of $125.00. Driving Range: After the 3 passes are used for the month, additional guest must pay $79.97 (including tax) per guest. Members must play with guests in order to take advantage of this special rate. We received many compliments on the course and organizational effort, and much of this effort was made by the members of the MGA. Thank you all for your time and energy, which contributed to a great event and increased the profile of the Brickyard Golf Club in the eyes of the GSGA and golfers throughout Georgia! We also want to recognize our very own Brickyard Golf Club member, Gay McMichael, for his competitive play in the 2015 Senior Championship!
