WELCOME The ONE Bassenthwaite Lake Sailing Week invites you to join us for our annual regatta week, offering wonderful sailing in a great family environment and in a setting of unrivalled natural beauty. Bass Week is a family regatta that ranks amongst the most popular open events in the North of England. The Club site offers excellent launching and camping facilities and the well appointed Clubhouse commands views across the Lake. Photographer John Spittle will be capturing the action on the water ACCOMMODATION & PARKING There are many hotels and B&B s within easy motoring distance. As this is the summer holiday season, early reservations are advised. Priority for the limited number of camping spaces will be made to those racing for the same duration. Please note that caravans, motor-caravans and tents may only be sited on the Club Grounds from 8:00am on Friday August 4th. We would appreciate it if visitors and members only bring one car per group. CATERING & BAR This year Rural Recipes Catering will be providing breakfasts, lunches and evening meals at the Club on all race days. The Club is fully licensed and competitors & visiting members will be elected Honorary Members for the duration of their stay. There will be daily visits from the ice cream van and regular visits from the butcher and grocer. Bass Week Training Monday morning 10am - 1pm. Start To Race training for juniors aged 7-17 focusing on developing skills learnt when learning to sail. Our coaches will get all participants sailing around a triangular course and starting to race. RACING PROGRAMME FLEET STARTS All classes to sail the same number of races and the starting times will be as follows: + 0 Fast Handicap +2 Flying Fifteen +4 RS200 +6 Medium Handicap +8 Lasers +10 Enterprise +12GP 14 +14 Solo +16 Slow Handicap +18 Mirror/Topper/Tera. CONDITIONS 1 The Meeting shall be open to all dinghies and keelboats with PN 822-1432. 2 The event will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing. 3 The entrant shall be deemed to be the Helmsman named on the Entry Form. 4 Applications to change boat must be submitted in writing and approved by the Sailing Secretary prior to the start of the race in question. Helms may not change boat during a series. 5 Mirrors may be sailed single handed. During a series, it will not be permitted to swap between single handed and crewed racing. 6 All sailors are required to wear personal buoyancy aids whenever they are sailing. 7 The Handicap Fleets will be split in to fast, medium and slow. Visitors will be expected to be quiet on the camp site after midnight. 13 Generators are not permitted on site. 14 Children under 14 are not permitted in the clubhouse after 10pm. 15 Dogs are not allowed on site. 16 Only one car per tent/caravan on site.
