THE CLUB OF CHAMPIONS For questions regarding tryouts or general club information, please contact us via e-mail at info@sgelitevb.org. Please be sure to include the player s name, age division, and tryout number in the subject line of the e-mail. SG ELITE One Club - A Vision of Excellence San Gabriel Elite Volleyball Club is committed to training student athletes of the San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles, and surrounding areas to be exceptional competitors in the sport of volleyball. Our vision of excellence describes our expectation that every person who participates in our program will strive to be the best he can be and will compete at their highest level possible. We believe in creating a strong family atmosphere, emphasizing team, and training at the highest level so that our athletes will be challenged to learn and grow, and pursue excellence in everything they do. For us club volleyball is not just a business, it is a place where lifelong friendships, values, and the pursuit of excellence are cultivated. With this philosophy we have become one of the ELITE CLUBS in the country. Our administration and coaching staff have dedicated many years to the communities of the San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles area. We have intentionally kept the club at one central location to preserve the core of the club family. We feel strongly about not branching out or franchising to other areas in Southern California for this primary reason; you cannot duplicate the heart and camaraderie of San Gabriel Elite. The DOJO - Our Facility In January of 2012, San Gabriel Elite opened its very own five court facility with space for a fitness training center. The DOJO is a unique 23,000 square foot facility where we are able to offer training and practice year round. With our own fitness training center we are able to provide sport specific weight training and plyometrics and have incorporated a Vertimax system for speed and strength training. We have Athletic Trainers on site to help prevent and treat injuries. We also have a strength and conditioning coach to guide player progress. NEW for 2016 season - Team pictures are now included in the club fees. - All members of our boys program will be able to attend our summer boys clinics free of charge! (July & August) GENERAL CLUB PROGRAMS/TEAM CLASSIFICATIONS Travel Teams - Elite Elite teams (18s, 17s, 16s, 15s & 14s) will travel in addition to competing in the SCVA Qualifying & Points tournaments as listed on the SCVA website. 15-18 & Under tournament dates: 10/24,11/7,11/14,11/21,12/5, 5/28,6/5,6/12 14 & Under tournament dates: 11/21,12/5,1/23,2/20,3/12,4/23,5/7,5/21,6/4

Travel teams will participate in the SCVA Junior Invitational held in the Anaheim area. All Elite teams will participate in the Boys and Holiday. 18 ELITE 17 ELITE Mid May-June/July Mid May-June/July 16 ELITE Mid May-June/July 15 ELITE Mid May-June/July 14 ELITE October-Mid June Black- Non-Travel/Full SCVA Tournament Schedule The non-travel team will have practice twice a week. They will participate in all SCVA qualifying, points, and Boy s tournaments. If a non-travel team is interested in participating in a travel tournament, this opportunity can be arranged. 15-18 & Under tournament dates: 10/24,11/7,11/14,11/21,12/5, 5/28,6/5,6/12 14 & Under tournament dates: 11/21,12/5,1/23,2/20,3/12,4/23,5/7,5/21,6/4 18 Black Mid May-June 17 Black Mid May-June 15/16 Black Mid May-June 13/14 Black October-Mid June Red - Non-Travel/Limited SCVA Tournament Schedule Our Red teams are for players who have time constraints which would exclude them from being part of a traditional twopractices a week non-travel team. We are sensitive to that fact that not all student athletes have 2-3 days per week available to train. Red teams practice only once a week and will compete in five SCVA sanctioned events. Practices for Red teams are held on a Friday or Sunday. (11/21, 12/5, 5/28, 6/5, 6/12) Travel Information At SG Elite Volleyball Club TRAVEL COSTS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN YOUR TEAM FEES. Each family will be responsible for getting their child to the tournament site at a time prior to the time designated for a team meeting, as well as housing each child during the tournament. The team will designate certain times for team meals and such to create team chemistry.

Free Clinics Included in team fees are free weekly clinics geared towards all-skills training and position specific techniques. Position clinics help players work on the nuances and technical skills identified as crucial to a particular position. Free clinics run from November to June on Fridays and Sundays. In House Weight/Agility/Plyometric Training Practices at the DOJO include a session at our in-house training center. The older teams will work on strength training, agility and plyometrics. The younger teams focus on agility and plyometrics. Back again for 2016 season, SG Elite players will be working out on the Vertimax system to increase strength and speed. For an additional fee the fitness instructor can arrange for private lessons for jump training or speed training Post Season Tournaments The goal for our 13s to 18s Elite teams is to compete at the USAV Junior National Championships at the end of the season.
