In both comeback wins, Green Bay forced 26 turnovers, a season high. The Phoenix started the winning streak in comeback fashion at Marquette on Dec. 8, turning a three-point deficit at the half into a nine-point win. Green Bay trailed by as much as 12 at Cleveland State last week, but was able to come back in the second half and win a contest that featured 10 lead changes and four ties. Senior Sarah Eichler banked in a three with 1:35 remaining to seal the 52-49 victory. Zippy Zastrow: Redshirt junior Sam Zastrow continued to make an impact for the Phoenix during the road trip last week, providing lockdown defense on Wright State s Kim Demmings. Zastrow played a career-high 21 minutes in the win over the Raiders, scoring two points, grabbing four rebounds and adding two steals. In the previous win at Valparaiso, she scored a season-high four points on 2-2 shooting. After not scoring until the win over St. Bonaventure on Jan. 5, Zastrow is averaging 0.9 points and 1.0 rebounds per game. Described by head coach Kevin Borseth as a tough little bugger on defense, she s used her athleticism and quickness on both sides of the ball to make an impact. Horizon League Heroics: As Horizon League play continues, Green Bay looks to continue its success in Horizon League games as it currently leads the nation winning 14 consecutive regular season conference titles. The Phoenix has also captured 11 tournament titles. Under Borseth s leadership from 1998-2007, Green Bay compiled an impressive 125-13 record against Horizon League opponents, which currently ranks second in the league record book. Green Bay is currently 6-0 in Horizon League play, good for first place. Kress for Success: Green Bay improved to 86-6 overall and 46-1 in Horizon League games after the win against Wright State on Jan. 12. The Kress Center has hosted every Horizon League Championship tournament over the past five seasons and has seen three sellout crowds of 4,018 strong in its five-year history, including two during the 2011-12 season. Since its first women s basketball contest on Nov. 3, 2007, the Kress Center has a total attendance of 197,644. This season, the $32.6 million facility has averaged 2,152 fans per game, the highest total in the Horizon League. The Phoenix will return to action at home on Saturday, Feb. 2 when UIC comes to town for a 2 p.m. matchup. 2012-13 Green Bay Roster No. Name Pos. Yr. Ht. Kevin Borseth - Back in the Bay Tweetable Tidbits Follow @GBPhoenixWBB, @HorizonLeague and @JustinGrones @GBPhoenixWBB improved to 6-0 in the @HorizonLeague with a 70-48 win at Wright State. #gophoenix #HLWBB Today s game is the first home game @GBPhoenixWBB has played since Jan. 12. #gophoenix #HLWBB @GBPhoenixWBB is ranked No. 2 in the Mid-Major Top 25 poll w/ a first-place vote. #gophoenix #HLWBB @GBPhoenixWBB is second nationally in scoring defense at 47.2 ppg. #gophoenix #HLWBB On April 5, 2012, Green Bay held a press conference to announce the rehiring of Borseth, a popular and historic move in that it was the first time the program had welcomed back a head coach for a second tenure. Not only did the hiring excite Phoenix fans by welcoming back a legendary coach, but it also lured Borseth away from a job in the Big Ten Conference and in his home state. Borseth spent the past five seasons as the head coach at the University of Michigan, where he compiled an overall record of 87-73. He took over a program that had won just 21 games in the prior three seasons combined and led the Wolverines to 19 wins and a postseason berth in his first season in 2007-08.
