MAVERIK CENTER The 2016 Utah Regional FIRST Robotics Competition will be held at the Maverik Center in West Valley City. The Maverik Center is home to the Utah Grizzlies, Salt Lake City s hockey team, as well as a premier venue for concerts, trade shows, conferences, and competitions like ours! Other highlights: Admission is free and open to the public; Free and ample parking; All spectators will be afforded unobstructed views of the playing field; Convenient location to malls, restaurants, hotels, and major interstates; Easily reached by public transportation via UTA and/or TRAX; Wheelchair accessible and fully compliant with all ADA requirements. Robot Drop Off Robots must be dropped off in the loading zone on the Northwest side of the Maverik Center. Please follow the arrows on the map (left) for robot drop off. Each team will have ten minutes to unload their robot and bring it to their designated place inside the event center. Please be courteous. Follow the arrows and do your best to stick to the ten-minute time allotted for each team. This is the route the staff at the Maverik Center has designated for our event. This should provide a smooth flow so all of our teams, volunteers, and event staff have a great time at the 2016 Utah Regional! 3

GETTING THERE Public Transportation The TRAX light rail route to West Valley City is complete. The Decker Lake Drive TRAX Station is across the street from the Maverik Center. UTA buses and TRAX are 100% accessible for riders with disabilities. Drivers are happy to help you board and travel safely to your destination. For TRAX schedules and UTA bus routes, visit: www.rideuta.com. By Car The Maverik Center is located on Decker Lake Drive in West Valley City. Take I-215 and get off on the 3500 South Exit and head east (toward the big mountains). Take the 1 st left on Decker Lake Drive. Turn left. Turn left. Destination will be on the right. 4

Turn left onto 3500 South. Continue onto 3400 South Continue onto 3300 South. Turn left onto Main Street. Destination will be on the left. Distance: 4.3 miles, 11 minutes. Home Depot 328 W. 2100 S. Expy. Salt Lake City, UT 84115 Head east from the Maverik Center (toward the big mountains). Turn right toward Decker Lake Drive. Take the 1 st right onto 3100 South. Turn left at the 1 st cross street onto Redwood Road. Turn right onto 2100 South. Make a U0turn at 300 West. The Home Depot will be on the right. Distance: 4.9 miles, 13 minutes. Lowe s Home Improvement 469 West 4500 South Murray, UT 84123 Head east from the Maverik Center (toward the big mountains). Turn right toward Decker Lake Drive. Turn right onto Decker Lake Drive. Turn left onto 3500 South. Continue onto 3400 South. Continue onto 3300 South. Slight right to merge onto I-15 Southbound toward Las Vegas. Take exit 301 for 4500 South. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Talorsville and merge onto 4500 South. Destination will be on the left. Distance: 4.8 miles, 10 minutes. Valley Fair Mall 3601 South 2700 West West Valley City, UT 84119 Head east from the Maverik Center (toward the big mountains). Turn right toward 3100 South. Turn left onto 3100 South. Take the 2 nd left onto 2700 West/Constitution Blvd. Turn left. Destination will be on the right. Distance: 1.4 miles, 6 minutes. RESTAURANTS There are many restaurants around the Maverik Center. Most of the restaurants are south of the event center, towards 3500 south, including Cracker barrel, Training Table, Chili s, Greek Souvlaki, Café Silvestre, Don Antonio s Mexican, and many others. The Valley Fair Mall also has numerous restaurants and activities in and around the mall. 6
