A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Waratah Bay trainer Mr. A Goldie was advised that a warning for poor performance would be placed on the mare s racing record. Race 3: Maiden Plate 1450m Kiss Catcha trainer Mr. P Atkins was advised that a warning for poor performance would be placed on the gelding s racing record. Rock Tsar slow to begin. The Towers raced ungenerously, hung out throughout and took charge of its rider passing the 600m and ran very wide, then had to be restrained out of the race. Stable representative Ms. V Gerrie was advised that prior
to racing again The Towers must perform tractably in an official barrier trial. Alwaajid a post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Race 4: 3YO Maiden Handicap 1280m Trainer Mr. R Northam was fined $100 (LR35) for failing to declare a rider for Man Up Son by the prescribed time. Baron Bold slow to begin. Eagleworks hung out under pressure inside the 200m. Stellara was hampered passing the 1000m. Race 5: Class 3 Handicap 1000m I Can Hear Music missed the start (2L). Red Braids began awkwardly. The saddle slipped sideways rounding the home turn which placed the rider at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. Gone Viral hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Race 6: Benchmark 60 Handicap 1750m Underground missed the start (2L). High On You when questioned G Buckley explained that his mount failed to travel at any stage and he became concerned with its action passing the 700m. he said that shortly after this he felt that something had gone amiss with the mare, rode without vigour from that point and eased it down in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Stable representative Ms. S Alexander was advised that prior to racing again, High On You would be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and pass veterinary inspection immediately thereafter. Race 7: Maiden Handicap 900m The Wire dislodged J Duggan behind the start, galloped away and contacted the perimeter fence heavily. The Wire was withdrawn at 4.06pm and when correct weight was declared, it was ordered that all bets made on The Wire be refunded in full and with regard to betting with bookmakers, all successful wagers placed prior to 4.06pm, be subject to the following deduction on the face value of the betting ticket: 1 st Upesi 3 cents Win & 4 cents Place 2 nd Starrick 4 cents Win 3 rd Uncle Sam 2 cents Win Trainer Mr. P Farrell was advised that a warning for unruly pre-race behavior would be placed on the gelding s racing record. Valley Royal had to be eased and shifted in when racing in restricted room rounding the home turn. The rider L Day, represented by Provincial Jockeys Association delegate, A Gibbons, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137 (b), in that she failed to ride her mount to the end of the race, resulting in it finishing in 5 th position beaten by the official margin of a short neck for 4 th. Taking into account all the circumstances including L Day s experience and previous record, L Day was fined $400. Race 8: Benchmark 55 Handicap 1280m Judge Judy began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. Leave Ya Numba was hampered passing the 100m. Bench Star bled during the race. As this is the second occurrence, the gelding is now ineligible to race. Teravette slow to begin, then crowded shortly after the start. Immy slow to begin, then hampered in the early stages.
