Concert: Saturday, July 27 th 10:30 a.m. (Doors open at 10:10) Ida Waldron Auditorium (in Old Main) You may park west of Snow. Additional parking is located just east of Donaghey on S. Boulevard, and also on the corner of Bruce and Donaghey (across from Thompson Hall and diagonal from Papa John s). The order will be: Cub Quartet Bear Quartet Grey Orchestra Purple Orchestra Concert Schedule: Grey Orchestra 7:00 8:15 Breakfast in Dorm/Dress for concert 8:30-9:15 Pack rooms/watch rehearsals in Ida Waldron 9:45 10:10 Rehearsal in Ida Waldron 10:30 Concert 12:00 1:30 Check Out Concert Schedule: Purple Orchestra 7:00 8:15 Breakfast in Dorm/Dress for concert 9:00 9:40 Rehearsal in Ida Waldron 10:30 Concert 12:00 1:30 Check Out *The Cub Quartet and Bear Quartet should rehearse from 8:00-8:30 in Snow Recital Hall. They should assist with check out, check out themselves, then assist with tear down of camp. Concert Dress Formal attire is required. Tuxedos and formal dresses are encouraged. No tennis shoes. No t-shirts. Girls: Skirts should be ankle length. Tops may not show cleavage. Concert Etiquette Please turn all cell phones to the off or silent position. Do not enter or leave while a group is performing. Do not text. Do not listen to other music. Please give campers the respect they deserve by being at the whole concert with your full attention.

The following locations will be used on a daily basis: Snow Fine Arts Center, aka, Snow Music Building (Sectionals, Morning and Afternoon Activities) Ida Waldron Auditorium (Rehearsals, Concert) Farris Hall (Dorm, Activity Check In) Christian Cafeteria (Meals) DIRECTIONS UCA Campus: I-40 to Conway. West on Dave Ward Drive, aka, 286-W. Right (north) on Farris Rd. There are two driveways on the right onto campus from this road. Take the first: Student Lane. There is construction on the right hand side after turning onto campus, and the parking lot is no longer accessible. Please park temporarily at Farris Hall, Christian Cafeteria or in the large parking lot on the right, just past the HPER. Snow Music Building: Take the first entrance to UCA. At the first stop sign, turn left. At the second stop sign, turn right. At the next (third) stop sign, go straight. The music building is on the left side of the street. Ida Waldron Auditorium (inside Old Main): Walk past Snow Music Building. Turn Left. Old Main is the first building on the right. Go to the other side (east side) of the building (big steps/by a circle driveway that you can t drive on. Enter through main entrance. Ida Waldron is straight ahead. Those who are handicapped or have limited mobility may be dropped off at the entrance of the circle in front of Old Main, but we can t drive on into the circle. Entrance to this drive is from off of Donaghey Ave. There are handicapped spaces along the drive up to Old Main from Donaghey. Farris Hall (Dorm): After turning into the University, the dorm is the first building on the left. Christian Cafeteria: (Across the street from the police station. Take first entrance to UCA, turn left at the stop sign. Turn right at the next stop sign. Immediately turn into the driveway that will bring you around the building into the parking lot of the cafeteria. *A map of UCA is included see last page.

Camp Rules *All electronic devices (including cell phones) are to be off during all instructional time. *All students traveling to other buildings outside of the large group must check in/out with a staff member and be in groups of at least 3 people. Campers, age 11 or younger, must be accompanied by a camp staff member. *Campers must cross the street at crosswalks and must stay on sidewalks. *The campus is kept really safe and patrolled by several police officers. Do not cross any big street that leads you off campus: Donaghey Ave., Farris Rd., Bruce St., or Dave Ward Dr. *Students will follow all instructions given by any camp teacher, counselor, or helper, and any UCA Staff member without hesitation or complaint. *Name badges must be worn at ALL times while at camp. This is your identification for everything. *Personal Display of Affection (PDA) is not allowed. *All teachers will be referred to as Mr. or Ms. *Respect all facilities. Rehearsal Rules *Bring a pencil, your instrument, needed supplies, and music to EVERY rehearsal. *Follow all instructions of all camp staff. *You must be in your seat, tuned (if you can), music on your stand, and warming up by 5 minutes before each rehearsal. *Always give YOUR best. Don t worry about other people s best. (If any rule is broken, you are subject to work or dismissal depending upon the offense. Any destruction or disrespect to any UCA property, staff, or student will be under the jurisdiction of the UCA police.)

What Do I Do on the First Day (Commuters) Monday from 7:30 a.m.-8:15 a.m. 1. Arrive at UCA Snow Music Building. 2. Check in in the Lobby a. Register b. Make sure account is paid c. Get any info needed Go to the Recital Hall for a general meeting at 8:30 a.m.. Parents can stay or leave. Proceed to schedule **Medications will be given to, and administered by Ms. Cobb or Mrs. Bryant except in special circumstances that must be discussed with Mr. Burkepile, Ms. Cobb, or Mrs. Bryant. This will happen at the Camp Registration Table the first check-in point. Students may not have medicine unless it is in the possession of Ms. Cobb or Mrs. Bryant and it is noted on your registration form. Students are not permitted to have over the counter medication, including throat lozenges, ibuprofen, and Tylenol. Drop off and pick up: *Each day, drop off and pick up will be at the covered driveway. *Upon arrival, the student will be given their name badge. *Then they can hang out in the Snow Music Building Courtyard, lobby, or practice until approximately 8:10 a.m. *Each day, students need to be in their seat with their instrument ready no later than 8:10 am. *Students check out by turning in their name badge when their ride has arrived. You will receive a call if a teacher does not receive the name badge at check out. This is how we monitor who is there and who is not. The police will be notified if we cannot reach you to confirm your child was picked up. COMMUTER MEALS Lunch at Christian Cafeteria is included in camp tuition. However, any student who stays for dinner will need to bring $6.25 to eat at Christian Cafeteria. NIGHT ACTIVITIES Commuters are invited and encouraged to attend all night activities. The student needs to notify the commuter counselor at check in if he/she plans to stay for dinner and/or night activities each day. If staying for dinner, make sure to bring $6.25 for dinner at Christian Cafeteria. If you check the student out and bring him/her back, he/she must be checked in with the commuter counselor upon arrival. All students attending the activity must report to Farris Hall at 6:15. The students will arrive at Farris Hall between 9:30 and 10:00 from the evening activity. You must come into the lobby and check your student out with the commuter counselor at the end of the evening. All students must be checked out prior to 10:00 p.m. Students 11 and under will not be allowed to attend the dinner each evening or the Thursday night dance.

Dorm Rules *Stay on your own floor. Visitation is only allowed in the common areas (e.g., outside, lobby, cafeteria, etc.) *Any meeting of the two genders will happen only in the Lobby or outside. *After night activities, students must remain in the dorm unless accompanied by an adult staff member. *No student is allowed outside of their room after 10 p.m. *Anyone NOT assigned to your room is NOT allowed in your room after 10 p.m. *Lights out is at 10:30 p.m. every night. Lights out also means go to sleep! *Showers and bathrooms have specific purposes - Nothing else. Respect each other s privacy! *Flush if you go, then wash your hands every time! *Take a shower EVERY day with soap, water, etc. We don t want to smell you! *When a counselor comes to your door, you must do as they say immediately. *Before you leave, clean your room and leave it the way you found it when you checked in. *There will be a check out, where the counselor will check your room. Even if the counselor says your room is ok, if UCA says otherwise, you are responsible to pay for any and all damages or cleaning fees. *Please do not lose your dorm card. It allows you to enter the dorm. If it is lost, it will cost you $50. This is a UCA policy. *If your room key is lost, you must tell a counselor FAST. This is to prevent theft of meal money or room items. If your key is found, we will not have to get the new key that costs $50. **These rules are to keep you safe, protected, and free from problems. Please respect them, and don t complain about them. The most important part of camp is to become a better musician, have fun,and grow as a responsible person**

Room assignments will be given the first night of camp. We will pair students by home orchestra if possible. Students who break rules or expectations are subject to loss of privileges, cleaning duties, stage crew responsibilities or, in extreme circumstances, removal from camp and the UCA campus. Items Needed For Overnight Campers (Many of these are suggestions) Blankets, sheets, pillows, and towels(for both shower and swimming). UCA will not provide these items. Alarm clock Phone (and charger) Snacks and drinks Clothes Comfortable rehearsals and meals inside / games outside in the heat. Bring plenty of clothes DON T PLAN TO WASH CLOTHES. Swim Suit We are going swimming one night. You may want to bring an extra towel just for swimming. Soap Shampoo Toothpaste and brush Comb / Brush / etc Money for snacks there is a place on campus. Recommend $20. Shoes for outside activities (flip flops are allowed but are not the best for outside activities) Instrument and all accessories (Shoulder rest, rock stop, rosin, strings, etc) (All music and folders will be given to students at camp) Music you want to practice or perform for a talent show Items you may need for the talent show Pencils with erasers (Electronics are allowed only during non-instructional times. All items are the responsibility of the student. If an item or items are lost or stolen, it is not the responsibility of the camp or UCA.)
