Newsletter www.sdwaterskiclub.com June 2017 Hello Skiers, 2017 is off to a great start! We kicked off the year with our annual Grand Prix party on April 23rd by celebrating the winners of the 2016 Grand Prix series. Thank you to all who attended! We had 17 skiers take part in the April Class F tournament and 14 skiers partake in the May Class F tournament. Pictures and results can be found on Pages 3 & 5. After much anticipation, the jump ramp was launched on May 9th. A small crew navigated the ramp through the construction on North Mission Bay Drive and attached the floats at De Anza Cove before launching the ramp. SDSU pulled the ramp to Hidden Anchorage with their boat. Harley & Ashleigh Wallace along with Dee Johnson, Bill Helliwell and others have been working on finalizing the anchors, installing the buoys and reducing the bounce back into the course. This past weekend a crew of skiers went up to Great Lakes for the first dessert trip of the year. I hope to have pictures for you in the next newsletter. We have a Class C tournament coming up June 17th & 18th. Please contact Ben Harwood if you are interested in participating. If you are not planning to ski, we would love to see you come down and support the event. We have a few out of town skiers signed up and we would love to make them feel welcome in San Diego. We have several new members who have joined the club. Please give a warm welcome to David Felkai and Barrett Tuohy when you see them on the dock. Both David and Barrett are looking for rides, so if you need an extra, please give them a call or text.
