SENIOR REP SELECTIONS FOR METRO LEAGUE 2018 Welcome to the KNA online nomination system. Please ensure you read this information before proceeding to the online nomination page. NNSW Metro League Competition In 2017, KNA fielded teams in Divisions 1, 3, 5 of the Metro League Competition. KNA will seek to enter 3 or 4 teams in this competition depending on nominations received for 2018. The NNSW Grading Committee determines team grades and therefore KNA cannot guarantee the Divisions in which our teams will eventually be graded. We anticipate the 2018 Metro League Competition will again have 6 Divisions and be played over three weeknights Monday (Divs 3 and 4), Tuesday (Divs 5 and 6) and Thursday (Divs 1 and 2). All games are played at Netball Central at Homebush. Division playing nights for 2018 to be confirmed by NNSW Metro League Coach Appointments - To be advised by the KNA Appointments Panel during November and be announced on the KNA website Selection Trial Information Metro League selection trials will be held as follows:- Phase I Trial will be held on Saturday 25 th November from 2.00-5.00pm Phase II Trial (if required) will be held on Sunday 3 rd December from 2.00pm - 5.00pm Venue and times to be confirmed. Check the website closer to the trial date. Attendance at both selection trials is compulsory - any decision to allow a player to not attend either selection trial will be at the discretion of the Senior Rep Selection Committee. If a player is unable to attend one or both selection trials please advise the reason to Angela Walker via email knarepliaison@kna.com.au asap. 2018 Team Position Offers Team position offers will be made within a few days of the second trial by email. Players will be asked to 1. Indicate their acceptance by return email and 2. Pay a first installment of fee of $100.00 and complete the player agreement to confirming their acceptance of the team position offered within 7 days. Players that accept an offer of a team position and subsequently withdraw will forfeit the $100.00 first installment. The balance of your fees will be billed early in 2018. The first fee installment will be required within 7days to secure your team position. NB: Players will not be required to pay a Nomination deposit prior to trialing. Closing Dates for Nominations All nominations must be received no later than 5pm Friday November 17, 2017 (Acceptance of late nominations is at the discretion of the Senior Rep Selection Committee)

Selection Process Conflict of Interest Should any of the selectors have a daughter who is trialing this constitutes a conflict of interest, and accordingly they will not participate in any discussions or vote concerning their respective daughter s position in a team. Selection Information Players must attend all trials. Players unable to attend all trials must apply in writing as mentioned previously. Playing in the 2017 Metro League or 2017 NID competitions does not guarantee selection into a Metro League team the following season. KNA has a player loyalty policy for all teams. Whilst KNA is willing to accept players from other Districts, such selection will be dependent upon the standard of those players as compared to the current KNA players and the team balance. Preference will always be given to current KNA players in circumstances whereby the players are judged to be equal in ability. The team selections will not be based entirely on the selection trials, but also on performances this season at Metro League, State Championships, Night ID, and State Age or Development team carnivals (for the current 15 year players) The selectors will base their decisions on their own observations, coach s reports and consideration of future development of players. Experience, ability, commitment and attitude will be considered. The selection of teams may not be completed following the initial selection trials and may include other players who meet criteria as determined by the senior rep selection committee and appointed coach. Following the second trial selected players will be emailed regarding the offer of a place in a team and we will ask that you email a reply within 48 hours of acceptance and return the signed contract and pay the $100.00 fee installment within 7 days. At this stage we cannot confirm the number of teams that will be entered in the 2018 competition. Should there be significant withdrawals from teams and insufficient suitable waitlisted players to fill vacancies then the number of teams to be entered will be reduced. Players who accept a team offer and then chose to trial at other Districts or do not withdraw from positions already obtained at other districts will have their accepted status changed to under review. The Senior Rep Selection Committee reserves the right to reconsider the offer of a team position of any player under review prior to submission of entries to NNSW in January. (ie: players under review may have their offer of a position withdrawn if there is a player of a sufficient standard to be promoted from a lower team or the waitlist. KNA Senior Representative Player Commitments 2018 The following conditions and commitments must be read and agreed on the nomination form for your application to be accepted. If you have any concerns or questions regarding trials or other selection issues please contact Angela Walker at knarepliaison@kna.com.au. KNA Player Mission Statement To represent our Association and my team to the best of my ability and ensuring that the ideals of netball - participation, fitness, competition, teamwork and, above all, sportsmanship are always maintained. You will be required to confirm that you have read and agree with Mission Statement on the nomination form

Representative Commitments Representative players not only make a commitment to KNA, but just as importantly they make a commitment to the rest of their team. Absences from training, games and any representative functions (other than those absences that cannot be avoided) are unfair to the team, KNA and those players who were not fortunate enough to be selected in a representative team. It is expected that all KNA senior representative players selected meet the following commitments:- Attendance at each game. Players should attend games even when injured to support their team. (minimum requirement is 85% attendance) Attendance at each of the scheduled training sessions at least one session each week of 1.5-2 hours duration. (minimum requirement is 85% attendance) Attendance at pre-season fitness training sessions (at least one session each week of 1 hours duration) Attendance at fitness training sessions or second training session (if applicable for your team) - held one night per week throughout the season for 1-1.5 hours duration (minimum requirement is 75% attendance) Attendance at any organised training games as appropriate Attendance at the Senior Representative End of Season Function Attendance at NNSW presentation ceremonies held following respective Championships or Competitions Players must apply to the Senior Rep Selection Convenor for approval of leave greater than 1 week during the preseason or playing season. Players unable to train/play for more than 1 week due to injury will need medical clearance to resume training and playing. Failure to meet the above Representative Commitments may lead to the player being withdrawn from their representative team on the recommendation of the KNA Representative Committee and at the sole discretion of the KNA Executive. You will be required to confirm that you have read and agree to Rep Commitments on the Player Code of Behaviour It should always be remembered that you are representing KNA at all times whilst playing matches, attending carnivals, and visiting other Associations. KNA has a Player Code of Behaviour (also available on the KNA website, under Library/Policies and Procedures) that we expect our players to adhere to, and any deviations from this conduct will not be accepted. Whilst we wish all players to really enjoy their representative experience, it is also important that we do so whilst respecting those around us. Failure to maintain the expected Player Code of Behaviour may lead to the player being withdrawn from their representative team on the recommendation of the KNA Representative Committee and at the discretion of the KNA Executive. You will be required to confirm that you have read and agree to Players Code of Conduct on the Parent Code of Conduct It should always be remembered that you are representing KNA at all times and inappropriate comments or behaviour, verbal abuse or public criticism of players, coaches, umpires or officials will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
