TRAVEL INFORMATION FOR MALPELO and GORGONA All sail that is made for Gorgona is carried out from the port of Buenaventura, approximately at 9 p.m. (Buenaventura is about 2 hours and 1/2 of the city of Cali by land). Every sail that is made for MALPELO is carried out from the port of Buenaventura, at approximately 11.30 p.m. The arrival to Buenaventura on a trip from MALPELO is at approximately 3.30 p.m. The arrival to Buenaventura on a trip from GORGONA is at approximately 6.30 a.m. The SEAWOLF is NOT a boat designed for Diving, or Luxury although it is relatively comfortable for the purpose of a Life Diving trip. (Diving in Malpelo and Gorgona is sometimes a bit difficult because of the changes of TIDES and the variable conditions in waves, currents, visibility and temperature, besides the trip can be moved and generate dizziness in some people). The boat is made of aluminum with 30 meters in length. 6 meters of Manga and 6 meters of strut, has 3 decks. It has 3 engines of 600 horsepower (but normally we work with 2) the 3rd unit we use it only if it is necessary. Crew of up to 12 people with cabins and independent bathroom of the passengers Distribution of cabins:
2 cabins with double bed (ideal for couples) and independent bathroom. 2 cabins (double) with separate beds (stateroom) rather small with separate bathroom. 2 cabins (multiple) with 3 beds (stateroom) with independent bathroom. 2 cabins (multiple) with 4 beds. For these there are 3 bathrooms outside the cabins. For trips to Malpelo with National passengers (up to 18 pax) for comfort, in cabins of 3 and 4 passengers only 2 and 3 passengers respectively. For trips to Malpelo with FOREIGNERS EXCLUSIVELY, (up to 12 pax) for more comfort, in the double cabins with independent bed only travels 1 and in the cabins of 3 and 4 passengers only travel 2 and 2 passengers Respectively. We have 2 air conditioned central and 2 mini split for cabins of 3 passengers (stern) (which operate from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.) and 24 hours during the round trips. We have 2 generators of 30 Kva that work in alternation and a emergency plant of 7 kva, 1 compressor for filling of tanks with Air (We do not have Nitrox at the present time) of 36 sfm and another compressor for emergency of 8 sfm. For the operation of Diving we have 2 inflatable Boats of Rigid Helmet (of 3 years of use) of 15 feet with Engines 4 times (3) of 20 hp and a bobe hard hull of 17 feet with engine of 60 hp, central console. We do not have hot water in the showers. No desalination plant. (We store 4500 gallons of fresh water), the drinking water is bottled. Information regarding the itinerary and Dives: For the trip to Malpelo Passing by Gorgona: (maximum 18 Divers and 3 Guides or 12 Divers and 2 Guides) we travel the first night to the island of Gorgona, (National Park) there we will arrive at about 7 a.m., disembark to the island register and
listen to the talk of National Parks of Colombia.
