By following this 1300 km thread, we will follow the valleys that give access to the main peaks of the Monashees, Selkirk and Purcell ranges, making this region mythical for all off-piste skiing, ski touring, heliskiing and cat-skiing lovers and those who are crazy about big powder. Click here and enjoy the 2016 galery WHAT YOU WILL DO DURING THE SAFARI You will do 10 days of off-piste skiing, discovering the wild Western mountains preserved by the natural reserve of the national parks of Purcell, Revelstoke and Banff. You will ski from 700 to 1700 meter down on virgin snow, alternating steep slopes and pillows, alpine bowls and large forests with widely spaced trees... It's now time to go for a drink in Nelson, an iconic hippie town in the Kootenay region. The city centre offers many good restaurants, cafés, stores and small art galleries. You will share unforgettable moments with participants from around the world; skis all speak the same language! Surrounded by a National Park, Lake Louise is the largest resort in the region and offers extensive off-piste terrain in a breathtaking decor. Night in Banff. LIFT PASSES: in every ski resort we cross. TRANSPORTATION: All transportation during the safari. The transport will be done in 4x4 pick-up driven by the guide. If you have your own bring it! HELISKI / CATSKI: Our tour takes place in the motherland of heliski and catski. A day of catskiing cost 500 per person. A day heliskiing (7/8 runs) cost 1600 per person. DINNER: It's the opportunity to stop in typical restaurant, discover their local food. Guide s dinner is to be offered by the participants. GROUP EQUIPEMENT (PROVIDED BY 9V) SAFETY KIT: Including shovel, avalanche probe and avalanche beeper: Must be worn by each participant at all times off-piste. If you have your own, please bring it. Indicate whether or not on booking form. SAFETY AND RESCUE EQUIPMENT: Each guide will have all that is necessary for the safety of his group in his rucksack : radio or mobile phone, first aid kit, tools for repair, space blanket, rope, shovel, avalanche probe...). The guide may ask you to carry such equipment in your rucksack. If you are an experienced mountaineer with your own equipment, bring it with you. WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING WIDE TOURING SKIS: 9V guides use and recommend wide skis that make all kinds of snow fun and are light enough to use with touring bindings to go uphill with skins in order to garanty access to untracked snow. There is so much snow in British Colombia, the best ski equipment to bring are fat skis (100mm widght or more under the foot) with low tech bindings. Diamir or Marker touring bindings are fine. BAGGAGE: Please travel light! As you will be staying in 5 different places during the Safari, make sure that your baggage is practical, quickly packed and easy to carry.?it will be transported from one hotel to the next, but there are no "porteurs" to and from the rooms, and please think of the bus driver who will be loading and unloading all the bagage. Please, only one baggage per person to be transported and no loose belongings likely to get lost. SMALL RUCKSACK for daily necessities. 25 liters will be a good choice.
