Videoing is permitted, but not reviewable by any player during a round.

Sunday practice round shall begin at 12:00 noon. See Practice Round Procedures. After qualifying and having played their one allowed round at the Rawls, qualifiers may not return to the Rawls on another day and play, or chip or practice putt exception; players may return to the course to practice putt and/or chip once the Sunday 6 pm Coaches meeting begins. The Rawls diving range is not regulated. A $35 practice round per golfer shall be paid directly to the Texas Tech Rawls Course. Cart rental for a practice round is $12 per player. Players may not speak privately with non-players; exception; a coach tee to green. Unsporting conduct, such as illegal coaching, inappropriate language, throwing clubs, course abuse, or other improper actions may result in penalty stroke(s) or disqualification. NOT PERMITTED is the use of such a device that is also designed to gauge or measure other conditions such as gradient, wind speed or temperature, regardless of whether such an additional function is used or not even if that function is disabled. Coaches May Engage with a Player When: ONE designated coach per school may engage their player. A school is limited to one coach per day. Coaching shall not delay nor disrupt the order of players teeing off. Coaches and spectators must remain off fairways. Spectators limited contact with players: Spectators may encourage but NOT coach nor give advice during play. Encouragements should be spoken loud enough for everyone to hear. Spectators must remain off fairways and maintain a minimum of 30 yards from the golfers. Exception: spectators may assist in locating a lost ball or in giving food or drink, but must not speak privately to a player.
Boys 5A Sunday Practice Round Guidelines & Regulations April 22, 2018 The Regional Tournament Director is solely responsible for the tee time agreement and restrictions placed on practice rounds. Therefore, coaches should direct their comments or suggestions to Tournament Director Sam Gentry (806.787.9006; sam.gentry@ttu.edu). Coaches need not notify The Rawls Golf Course of their qualifying.. A coach may choose to play their one allowed practice round prior to Sunday (Mon-Sat). If they do, they should make their own practice round arrangement directly with The Rawls (806.742-4653). They should also inform Sam Gentry (806.787-9006) of their intent so teams can be notified their Sunday times have changed. Sunday practice round times and groupings are assigned as determined by their finish in last year s regional golf tournament. See the assigned tee times listed below. Two schools may mutually agree to switch their assigned tee times on Sunday. If a team(s) chooses not to play on Sunday; tees times of the remaining teams/medalists will be moved up. Therefore, teams/medalists should be prepared to play earlier than their assigned time. Teams/medalists missing their assigned tee time may lose their right to their practice round. To maximize time usage for Sunday practice rounds; parents, coaches, alternates and other non-qualifiers shall be PROHIBITED from playing the practice round with five qualifiers. Non-qualifiers and spectators may observe the qualifying players on Sunday by following them out on the course, but they must remain off the fairway and on the cart paths. 5A Girls Regional Golf Tuesday Practice Round The Rawls Golf Course April 24, 2018 Practice round play other than on Tuesday are the sole responsibility of the qualifying school. This school should contact The Rawls Golf Course at (806) 742-4653. Immediately upon qualifying for the regional tournament, all coaches should email the Tournament Director Sam Gentry (sam.gentry@ttu.edu) verifying the correct spelling of each player s name. Director Gentry will notify The Rawls of the team entry and work with staff in designating the holes for the shotgun start. The Tuesday, practice round shall be a Shotgun Start at 3:00 pm CST. Players may warm up prior to the shotgun start. Schools are responsible for getting players to their assigned hole in time. A Team will play together in a group of five. Medalists will be grouped in foursomes. Non-qualifiers may observe the qualifying players out on the course, but they must remain off the fairway and on the cart paths. To maximize practice time; parents, coaches, alternates and other non-qualifiers shall be PROHIBITED from playing the practice round with qualifiers. Prior to their 3:00 pm practice round, the girls MAY NOT go out on the course and observe the boys tournament. They may however observe the boys from either finishing green #9 & #18. Regional Golf Q & A May we schedule our one practice round at a time/day other than the day prior to tournament? Yes, if the course allows! The assigned practice round the day prior to the competition is primarily for the convenience of out-of-town schools. How are the groupings for the first day of the tournament and the Sunday practice rounds determined? The groupings are determined in part by a district s placing in the 2017 regional and state tournaments. May we include the cost of cart rentals in the check with the practice rounds? It is not a good idea! Carts are rented on a first come, first served basis; therefore carts may or may not be available for your use! May players take carts on the course to watch others play once we finish our round of tournament golf? No! Players are prohibited from operating golf carts both days of the regional tournament. May we leave the course & return later that same day to practice putt or chip after our practice round? No! Not until your coaches meeting begins may players return and practice putt or chip! Exception: The course driving range is not regulated and may be used any number of times either before or after qualifying. Sunday; may players go out and walk the course before 12:00 Noon CST? No! Walking the course is considered playing the course. They may warm up prior to noon if their tee time is at noon or slightly after. Tuesday; may players go out and walk the course, warm up or hit prior to their 3:00 pm shotgun start? No, at 2:15 pm players may begin warm ups and hitting; but may not begin their round until 3:00 pm. Schools are responsible to get their teams to their assigned holes by their 3:00 shotgun start! Tuesday; may girls go out on the course prior to 3:00 pm and watch the boys finish their final round? No! They may however, observe from either finishing green (#9 & #18)! May a coach or parent take food and drink to a player during a round. Yes! However, spectators should maintain a minimum of 30 yards from the golfers and not speak privately with them. They also must follow the cart path and remain off fairways! May a coach take any player to the restroom during a round? Yes! This should be a quick break as to not slow down play. May a coat, gloves, poor an umbrella be taken to a player during a round? Yes, but items deemed golf equipment may only be picked up or taken to players at the turn (after 9 holes). May both the head coach and an assistant take turns and give advice to our players from green to tee? No! Each day a school must designate a single coach who may engage those players tee to green. Exception; if a school qualifies two teams, two coaches may advise each team or medalist. 2/9/2018
May we call the pro shop to learn the tournament tee times and groupings? No! This information should be posted at the courses and on the Texas Tech UIL web site! May players practice putt, chip, etc. after they finish their round on the first day of regional play? Yes! However, there may be a charge for range balls! Who is considered to have made the All Regional Team? There are no awards. The low five individual scores are considered to have achieved All-Regional status! What is recommended when scheduling a return plane flight home after the tournament? Schools should allow ample time for the breaking of ties for both teams and individuals through fourth place!
