WORLD BOWLING TOUR FINALS PRESENTED BY THE PBA ABOUT THE WORLD BOWLING TOUR: The Professional Bowlers Association and the World Tenpin Bowling Association (now known as World Bowling) teamed together in 2011 to create the World Bowling Tour (WBT). In 2011, the World Bowling Tour featured eight tournaments (open to men and women) in seven different countries. Players earned points based on how they finished in each event and those points were tabulated throughout the year to determine the top three men and top three women who competed in the inaugural World Bowling Tour Finals (presented by the PBA) in Las Vegas. In this year s sixth edition of the WBT Finals, the three women and three men qualifiers earned their spots from events contested ONLY in the 2016 WBT season. WBT FINALS OIL PATTERN ( ATLANTA 38 FT.): The oil pattern being used for this event is the Atlanta pattern which is a partially symmetrical pattern with a medium volume of oil. The pattern is slightly offset in volume and shape. The pattern length promotes a breakpoint that is further right. Atlanta can be a very good scoring pattern if the lane play is similar. WBT PRIZE FUND (MEN S AND WOMEN S): 1st -- $20,000 2nd -- $10,000 3rd -- $ 5,000 Note: The WBT Finals does not count as an official PBA title. WBT FINALISTS & TV FINALS FORMAT WOMEN S STEPLADDER: MATCH ONE: #3 Liz Johnson, Cheektowaga, NY vs. #2 Anggie Ramirez Perea, Bogota, Colombia CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Winner of Match One vs. #1 Danielle McEwan, Stony Point, NY MEN S STEPLADDER: MATCH ONE: CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: #3 Marshall Kent, Yakima, WA vs. #2 Anthony Simonsen, Austin, TX. Winner of Match One vs. #1 Martin Larsen, Gothenburg, Sweden

Dom Barrett, England 86 WBT CURRENT FRAME SCORING SYSTEM This year marks the second consecutive year the WBT Finals will use the WBT Current Frame scoring system. Scoring works as follows. 10 frames (but the 10th frame is the same as the other frames... no bonus or fill shots in the 10th frame). Max score still = 300 (but it only takes 10 shots to shoot 300 instead of 12). If a player strikes, it s 30 for the frame. If a player spares, it s 10 plus whatever the pinfall was on their first shot in the frame. So, for example: 9-spare = 19; 6-spare = 16. If a player opens in a frame, they get their pinfall for the frame. You have a complete score or current score at the completion of each frame.

PAST WBT FINALS CHAMPIONS: (2016 WBT Finals contested at Woodland Bowl in Indianapolis; all WBT Finals previous to 2016 contested at South Point in Las Vegas). 2016 MEN -- Dom Barrett (def. Emir Cup, Doha, Qatar.

WBT QUICK NOTES: Only two of the six competitors in this year s WBT Finals have qualified for this event before. Liz Johnson & Danielle McEwan are repeat performers in the WBT Finals, but Anggie Ramirez Perea and all three men s finalists are making their debut appearances in a WBT Finals. o Danielle McEwan is the defending champion in the women s division of this event having defeated Kelly Kulick in the final match last year, 256-243. McEwan knocked off Liz Johnson in the semifinal, 256-233. Last year was McEwan s first appearance in the WBT Finals and also marked the debut of the WBT s Current Frame scoring system. o Liz Johnson is making her fifth consecutive appearance in this event (has made all of them except the first one in 2011), but is still after her first victory in it. Johnson finished third last year, was second to Kelly Kulick in 2014, was third in 2013 and was second in 2012 (losing to Missy Parkin). All three women in today s finals are PBA members. McEwan & Johnson own PBA titles: o #1 seed Danielle McEwan became just the ninth woman in PBA history to win a PBA Regional title when she won the 2015 South Point PBA West Region Challenge in Las Vegas. o #3 seed Liz Johnson was the first female to win a PBA Regional title (2005 in Rome, NY). o Johnson also finished second in a PBA Tour event in 2005 in Grand Rapids, MI, narrowly missing out on becoming the first female to win a PBA Tour event (finished second to Tommy Jones). o In the 2014 WSOB, Johnson became the first woman to qualify for a TV Finals twice as she was the No. 4 seed for the PBA Cheetah Championship. o In addition to these PBA titles, the PBA conducted a PBA Women s Series for three seasons and both Kulick and Johnson won titles in that series (Kulick won two and Johnson won one).
