Climate in Belize The climate is subtropical, with a brisk prevailing wind predominantly from the Northeast. The country has an annual mean temperature of 79 degrees Fahrenheit, and the humidity is nicely tempered by the Sea breezes. A summer high temperature, usually never exceeds 96 degrees Fahrenheit, and winter lows are seldom below 60 degrees Fahrenheit, even at night. Saltwater temperature varies between 75 degrees Fahrenheit and 84 degrees Fahrenheit. The rainy season is usually between June and August and the dry season is between February and May subtropical, with a brisk prevailing wind predominantly from the Northeast. Getting to Belize Fly into Belize City, then connect on Tropic Air to Placencia (45 minute flight). Flights available with our in house Air agent. Transfers to The Moorings base from Placencia Airport by taxi are USD $3 pp, with a minimum charge of $10. Belize Cruising Area Sailing Conditions Belize offers 185 square miles of protected sailing. Easterly trade winds range from 15-22 knots for perfect sailing conditions. With an abundance of reef systems, good coastal navigation skills are important.

Cruising Information: - All charters are restricted to sail inside the barrier reef. Trips outside the reef will require a designated guide.
