Shiver me timbers. We sail at 7 PM with First Mate Susan Snider calling rounds and Captain Bill Chesnut will be calling the tips for all the buccaneers to hear. There will be treasures galore for the best costumes. Doubloons(cash) for the lucky pirate to win the 50-50. Lots of dancing with no walking the plank.
These pirates had a ball at last year s dance All hands on deck! Volunteers are needed to decorate the hall this Thursday at 1 PM.
This Wednesday, The Dancing Divas luncheon is scheduled at the Talons Restaurant at the Eagle Harbor Clubhouse on Fleming Island. The event begins around 11:30 with lunch at noon. This Friday, The Silver Fox are having their Sha-Na-Na dance celebrating the the fabulous fifties. The dance will be at Trinity Lutheran church located at 1415 S.McDuff Ave. A great evening of dancing as Cuer, Susan Snider and Caller, Bill Chesnut kept the dancers energized.

Then it was time for our 50-50 drawing worth $33. The winner is Grey Duncan! No wonder Grey is so happy, this is the second time in three weeks that he has won the 50-50 drawing. Way to go Grey! Happy Anniversary to Don and Sherry MacGregor They are celebrating their 44 th this month. Wayne Miller displayed several plaques that he has made. Square Dancer of the Year Val Newsome is asking that everyone start thinking of a couple or person to recommend as Square Dancer of the Year. Please Submit your recommendations to Val by September 15 th.

Events Calendar August 20 th -The Rollaways start back dancing at Sandalwood H.S. August 21 st -The Dancing Divas luncheon. The Dancing Diva s luncheon is scheduled for August 21 st at the Talons Restaurant at the Eagle Harbor Clubhouse on Fleming Island. The event begins around 11:30 with lunch at noon. Directions to the clubhouse are as follows: head south on US 17, turn right into Eagle Harbor and follow the Eagle Harbor Parkway to the clubhouse on the left. You will go past the tennis courts and the swimming pool. Keep going until you to come to a four way stop. Fleming Island Elementary will be on the right. Proceed through the intersection. August 27 th -The Rollaways will be having their Hot Dog Days at Sandalwood H.S. Dinner starts at 7 PM. Dancing from 7:30-9 PM. September 7 th -NEFSARDA s Fifth Saturday dance is being held at the Richardson Community Center in Lake City. A free spaghetti dinner will be provided by the NEFSARDA board and dinner will be served at 7 PM. Early rounds 7-7:30 PM, Susan Snider cuer and the dance will be 7:30-9:30 PM. Door donation is $5 per person. This may be an opportunity to get a group together and go to Lake City to show our support. November 15 th & 16 th -NEFSARDA Fall Festival. Palms Presbyterian Church, 3410 3 rd Street South. Jacksonville Beach,FL. Each club is asked to bring a poinsettia for a centerpiece on their club table. Walt and Dianne Syphard are the chairpersons for the Poinsettia Ball. The Moose Promenaders pays to have every member s name put into the Fall Festival program. Hazel has a list of those names so please check with her for accuracy. The names must be submitted by September 1 st. Creekside Promenaders will be dark the month of August and will resume dancing on September 16 th, the first night of class. Shirts and badges will be done in September. Marilyn Scott will be collecting for the bus at the end of September. The amount should be around $50 per person. Fall Classes Begin September 5 th and the 12th It s time to actively promote our fall classes. Talk to as many people as you can because you just never know who might be interested. Please pick up some fliers and business cards at the rear table before you leave the dance Thursday night. We also have signs prepared for the back windows of our member s cars.
