Next up. But First Field Cleanup It was a busy day Saturday at the field for fall cleanup day. We owe a great deal of thanks to Stan, Keith, Dennis, Gary, Dave, Jamie, and Kevin for spending their entire Saturday cleaning up the field for the winter. Almost forgot Marty for fix in lunch for the guys! I got the following picture of the guys at work, funny but the caption read, State workers at work, or is it and of course, our illustrious president can actually handle a shovel October Pylon Race It was decided that the last Pylon race of the year and the Turkey Shoot would be held the same day, along with food to satisfy the FORKS Eating team. The Pylon race was held with much fan fair but by the time lunch was over the rains settled in and the Turkey Shoot was rescheduled to the next weekend. Congratulations to those who raced and especially to Bill Martin for his 1 st place finish. Condolences go out to Roger and Tony who both decided to fly in the same airspace, which resulted in the raining down of airplane parts. Ya shoulda been there
2017 Turkey Shoot The 2017 Turkey Shoot is in the history books. It is unfortunate that I couldn t be there but I d like to thank Kevin for stepping up and CD ing the event. I got some feedback that Kevin did a great job so we may have a new Turkey Shoot CD going forward!! Congratulation s to Jamie for his 1 st place finish. I guess learning to fly at a very small field has its advantages. Good job Bill on 2 nd place and your friend, the chicken, and Jeff, I m sort a having a tough time seeing your 3 rd place Cornish hen Great group of flyers and helpers!!
2017 CORKS Christmas Banquet At the last meeting we discussed, and sent around a form for signing up for the Christmas Banquet. I was very pleased that we had a total of 40 folks signed up so far. At the next meeting I will have the sheets, with your names and a box to check for what meal you would like to have. At that point I will be providing to the Ale House the number attending and meal choices within 2 weeks of the event. Here are your choices: Grilled chicken A char-grilled chicken breast brushed with herb infused olive oil accompanied by rice pilaf & fresh vegetables. Lasagna Classico Layers of cheese & our housed ground beef served in a pool of marinara All entrees come with a garden salad and bread/rolls. Also non-alcoholic beverage service. A cash bar will be available. Darlene has informed me that the ladies gift exchange will be a little different this year. Instead of buying and wrapping a gift for the exchange she would like the ladies to purchase a $10.00 gift card to place on the tree. You are all invited to come over to our home for the after dinner party. Elections Election and voting for 2018 officers will take place at the Nov. 12 th club meeting. So far the current officers have been nominated for the 2018 offices. Think about what/who you as a club member would like for 2018 and be prepared to nominate someone at the next meeting. Organizational meeting The organizational meeting will be held at Ron Kummer s home the 19 th of November at 1:30 PM. Members in good standing are invited.
