26th ANNUAL EAST TENNESSEE CLASSIC HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMING INVITATIONAL December 13th & 14, 2012 Location: Facilities: Swimming: Kingsport Aquatic Center 1100 Meadowview Parkway, Kingsport Diving: Dobyns-Bennett High School 1800 Legion Street Drive, Kingsport,TN Kingsport Aquatic Center: Indoor 50 meter pool with two 25-yard courses separated by moveable bulkheads. Competitor lane lines and custom starting blocks with adjustable wedge mounting will be used. Automatic timing system with 8 lane score board. Water is 13 feet at the start end of the competition course and 6 feet 6 inches at the turn end. The warm-up course is 5 feet to 6 feet deep. Raised spectator seating is available. The competition course has been cerified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4) Dobyns-Bennett High School: Two one meter diving boards with pool depth of 12 feet. (If these times change I will let you know) Competition 8:45 A.M. Only athletes in good academic standing are eligible to compete in the high school division. All athletes must be currently enrolled in the high school for which they compete. Home schooled athletes are eligible for competition. Athletes must meet the standards set by their state associations. Middle school students that do not meet the current TISCA Eligibility Criteria may participate in the Middle School Division. Swimming events will be Timed Finals. The 2013-14 National High School Federation Rulebook will govern the meet. 1. Teams are to submit their entries using Hy-Tek Team Manager by email attachment (please send in COMMlink file format or WIN-MM format). Teams can download a FREE copy of Hy-Tek Team Manager 7.0 Lite from http://www.hytekltd.com/downloads.html. Please provide a printed copy of entries for verification purposes. Teams that do not have Hy-Tek s programs will be charged an additional $50.00 entry fee. In order to ensure proper entry, complete the attached forms, listing swimmer (last name, first name), grade, and best time for each event. Coaches, please provide a telephone number where we can call you during the day and evening.
2. Please submit all times in short course meters. If using yard times, please indicate on the entry form. Use NT for swimmers and relay teams with no times. 3. Swimmers may swim no more than 2 individual events and 2 relay events or one individual event and 3 relay events for the meet. 4. Coaches do not need to provide names for relay teams until warm-ups. 5. Boys and Girls 400-meter freestyle will be limited to 5 heats in each event. The 30 swimmers with fastest seed times will be entered in each event. They will be seeded fastest to slowest. 6. The best time column for diving entries should be left blank. Place an X in the space on the form. Diving forms will be provided at the meet. Events: Standard High School Order of Events will be used; boys events followed by girls events. Divers will compete in 11 dives on Friday, December 13th. Divers will be able to 6 dives as an exhibition. A 10 minute break will follow the girls 50-yard freestyle. Team awards: 1 st and 2 nd place boys, girls, and combined. Medals will be awarded 1 st through 3rd place for individual events in the high school division. Ribbons will be awarded 4th through 10th place in individual and 1 st -6th place in the relay events in the high school division. Middle school division will receive a participation ribbon for every swim. Special Awards: You are asked to submit nominations for the Sue Faucette Award and the Raymond Gregory Award. These are awarded yearly to the outstanding Male and Female Senior participants. The criteria for these awards are Academics, Leadership, Swimming, and Community Service. Nomination forms are attached. One vote per Head Coach per award even if you coach multiple teams.
