Volume 2 Page 3 Glasgow Drill Comp Chopticon s AFJROTC Color Guard in action! After we competed in the drill events on Saturday I had no idea we were going to win a trophy. I commanded armed inspection and had a flight of 12 cadets. I knew that the flight studied their questions, and that they would do their best. When the inspection was over I was so happy, and thought it was really fun commanding the inspection. After we competed in all our events, and watched the other schools exhibition teams it was time for the awards ceremony. C/2nd Lt Benton and I were standing in front of our color guard like all the other schools. We agreed that we would go up for our own events and switch for the other events if we got any trophies. We were standing there for a while then they announced that armed inspection was next. I knew that with how well we preformed in the inspection that we had to of placed. Then they called Chopticon high school for third place. My face got bright red and I was so happy that we placed. Then I went up to the cadet that was handing the trophies to the school representatives. He shook my hand, handed me the trophy and we saluted each other. Then I went back to my spot and set the trophy down. Once the ceremony was over we went back to our team on the bleachers and every one congratulated me. I am very proud of my team, and proud that I am a part of Chopticon s drill team, and I can t wait until next year to be a part of it again. -C/A1c Riddle
