Reminder to Robotics club members: Parent permission slips to attend the Tech Summit are due today. There will be a student council meeting during lunch in Mrs. Shupe s room today. There will be a meeting on Thursday, January 29, during study hall for anyone interested in playing baseball this spring. The meeting will be in gym. If you are unable to attend please see Coach Huston. Art Club will meet on Thursday, January 29 in the art room after school. All football and perspective football players: There will be a meeting in the gym with Coach Klein during study hall, Friday, January 30. Please plan to attend the boys basketball game on January 30 as 2 new state championship banners will be hung in the gym. Two state championships from the 2014 track season will be honored before the varsity game at approximately 7:30 p.m. The IW Key Club will be selling carnations February 2-5 during the lunch hour. Carnations will be delivered the morning of February 12. Don t miss this opportunity to brighten your valentine s day! After Prom T-Shirt Design Contest. Junior and senior students may submit After Prom t-shirt designs in black and white on 8 ½ x 11 paper to the school office by Friday, January 30. Illini West Scholastic Bowl participated in the WGEM Academic Challenge on Friday, January 23. Their match will be televised on January 31 at 6:00 pm on WGEM NBC and on February 1 at 5:30 pm on WGEM Fox. The WCISEC annual basketball game is coming up Friday, February 20! We will have new shirts this year to represent! Please turn in your order by February 11 to the front office. The Get R Done club is selling team Cale t-shirts. Order forms can be picked up and turned in to the front office or Mr. Hoener. Orders are due by February 20. Attention Illini West Juniors & Seniors. Beginning Monday, February 2 prom tickets & favors will be on sale during lunch outside the front office. The last day to purchase your prom tickets will be Tuesday, February 17. Prom tickets will be $30.00 which includes your admission to prom, meal & prom favors. Current Illini West Seniors do not have to purchase a ticket to prom but still must sign up. Out of town guest forms will also be available outside the front office also beginning Monday, February 2. Those must be filled out & turned in either to Mrs. Hellyer or Mrs. Cook by Wednesday, March 18. If you need them faxed to another school it is your responsibility to have the form filled out & the fax number on the back of the form.
The FFA will be hosting the first Sadie Hawkins Dance on Saturday, February 28 from 7:00-10:00 pm. The theme is sundresses and pearl snaps. The dance is $3 per person and $5 per couple at the door. See Mr. DeCounter to get your out of town date forms; they are due back Monday February 23 at 3:30 to Mr. DeCounter. Mark your calendars! The Illini West Cheerleaders are excited to announce the upcoming Basketball Cheer Clinic on Wednesday, January 28 from 4 5:30 pm in the Illini West Cafeteria for Pre-K through 8 th Grade. Students: no hats are to be worn in the main building, portables or weight room during the school day. This is the time you arrive at school until the bell rings ending the day. "Hats" includes traditional ball caps, stocking hats, visors, do-rags, hoodies or any other item worn on the head. No students are to park in the circle drive at any time between 7:30 am and 2:40 pm during a day of school. Please park your vehicles in the parking lot. The bus lane will not be open during the lunch hour. Please exit the parking lot at the far northeast and southeast entry ways.
Senior News Class of 2015 Girls basketball seniors and parents will be recognized directly after the JV basketball game on January 29 vs Central-Southeastern. Parents, please meet at the southeast entrance of the gym at the conclusion of the JV basketball game. Seniors who did not attend the financial aid night are encouraged to pick up scholarship application packets as soon as possible from Mr. Bliss.
