The parent informational meeting will be Wednesday, April 11th in the Seymour High School Auditorium Schedules, rules, expectations, fundraising activities, and other important information will be provided at this meeting. T Ball and Pee Wee 6:15-6:45 7/8, 9/10, and 11/12 7:15-7:45 13U and 14U 8:15-8:45 The coaches meeting will take place Wednesday May 2 nd in the aquatic center classroom Volunteer League Coaches T ball- 11/12 6:30-7:15 Tournament Team Coaches 8U-12U 7:30-8:15 We are in need of coaches at every level of our city league. Please indicate if you would be willing to help out with coaching responsibilities. Coach Jefson will have a coaches meeting in the spring to help organize what fundamentals and strategies should be used for each level. Together we can have a great summer of teamwork and fun. All Seymour leagues are scheduled to start the week of May 7th thru the week of June 28th. July 9-13 can be used for make-up league games. (13U and 14U) are scheduled separately. TEE LEAGUE (4-5 years old Boys & Girls) Parent Coaches Needed Players must be 4 years old by June 1 No Exceptions Games will be at Lake Park Diamond #2 (Enter by Wally s) Tuesday & Thursdays 5:00, 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. Tee League is an introductory baseball league, which intends to let the players learn the basic skills of throwing, fielding and hitting in a positive, non-competitive environment. All players will hit off a batting tee, practice throwing and catching each day. The children will get the opportunity to play games as well as the instruction two times a week. All equipment will be provided except for fielders gloves. Parents are encouraged to help youngsters on the field as they learn the rules and skills of baseball.
PEE PEE WOODKKDKKD WEE (5-6 years old Boys & Girls) Parent Coaches Needed Tuesday & Thursdays 5:00, 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. The Pee Wee baseball league is designed for boys and girls ages 5 & 6. The purpose of this league is to introduce baseball to young people in an atmosphere that promotes fun and enjoyment. The Pee Wee league follows basic rules except for the following: 1.) There are no called balls and strikes, therefore, no base on balls are awarded. 2.) The batting order continues until everyone has batted before returning to the top of the order. 3.) An inning is over when the offense makes three outs or when everyone in the batting order bats in that particular inning. 4.) Players may use a tee to hit off if they desire. Otherwise a soft underhand or overhand toss will be pitched to each batter. 5.) All batters and runners must wear a safety approved helmet with earflaps. These helmets are provided. 6.) All games will last 3 or 4 innings or 45 minutes 7.) Games will be at Lake Park Diamond #2 (Enter by Wally s) LITTLE LEAGUE (7-8 years old Boys) Parent Coaches Needed Monday and Wednesdays 5:00, 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. 1.) The 7 & 8 Little League will be a transitional level from pee wee to 9 & 10s. 2.) This league is entirely coach pitch (overhand) or machine pitch (Louisville Slugger Blue Flame Ultimate Pitching Machine UPM 45). 3.) Players will be given approximately 8 pitches to hit the ball. 4.) 10 players will be on the field with subs filling in every other inning. 5.) The main focus in this league will be working on the basic fundamentals such as fielding, throwing, bunting at a more advanced level than pee wee. 6.) The introduction of a hard ball will also be different from pee wee to prepare players for their later years in baseball. 7.) Each individual will get a chance to play all the positions on the field throughout the season. Parents are also encouraged to help out with score, keeping the players in the correct batting order, and helping the players get the catchers gear on. 8.) LITTLE LEAGUE (9-10 years old Boys) Parent Coaches Needed Monday & Wednesdays- 5:00, 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. 1.) The 9 & 10 Little League will allow the players to make an easier transition to playing hardball while competing against children their own grade/age level. 2.) More advanced fundamentals such as cutoffs will be taught along with the basic fundamentals. 3.) Games will be played on a regulation field with 60-foot bases and a 46-foot pitching distance. 4.) The playing of multiple positions is emphasized. 5.) Games will be played at Rock Ledge Park Diamond #4 LITTLE LEAGUE (11-12 years old Boys) Parent Coaches Needed Tuesdays and Thursdays- 5:30 or 6:45 Start Times 1.) Players are instructed on baseball fundamentals such as throwing, hitting, pitching, sliding and bunting. 2.) These skills are developed during the season at weekly practice and games. 3.) The playing of multiple positions is emphasized. 4.) Games will be played at Rock Ledge Park Diamond #4 The Seymour Varsity Baseball will be playing Shiocton on Sun. April 29 th at Fox Cities Stadium. We will honoring our seniors after the game.
