March 27 - April 03 2018 Successful Start To Tingira s Big Boat Sailing Series Last Sunday Skirmish skippered by Tony Harland. Line honours with a time of 2hr 21 minutes. Bonnington skippered by Guy Hickey First on Handicap (corrected time) The first of our Big Boat Sailing Events was sailed last Sunday with all the ten nominated yachts completing the course. The event was sailed in a mainly light easterly breeze. From the start line (set just west of Dalpura Anchorage ) the yachts sailed a triangular course to the north of Macleay Island and then finished back at the Dalpura Anchorage starting point (The course is approx 19.5km or 10.5 nautical miles as the crow flies). Despite the light winds the yachts made good time around the course with the sailors reporting that they all had an enjoyable and pleasant sail.
