From: Heather Baker Heather@AustralianOpalMines.com Subject: Boulder Rough OFFER 25 Oct 2016 Date: October 25, 2016 at 12:18 AM To: heather@australianopalmines.com On the weekend we had some tragic news, a Boulder opal miner was buried in his mine whilst working by himself. Unfortunately his life was lost. At the end of this Offer is the newspaper extract if you would like to read it. Opal mining is dangerous. Australian Opal Mines has never worked underground, we have only worked with bulldozers and excavators. Still miners can be killed. There is a picture of Kent & Milton standing on a huge rock that fell from a wall when they were mining, the rock took the keys off Milton s belt, there was such a terrible amount of dust that Kent couldn t see Milton. Fortunately he walked out of the cloud of dust with a big smile on his face. I am not going to say much about our Boulder Offer. We have pieces in here for as little as $25 right through to a magnificent Boulder $3,250 that has every colour of the rainbow. In fact some of it does look like a rainbow. It s about 1/3 the size of the palm of a man s hand, cut and set this material would produce jewellery worth between $15,000-$20,000. There is another huge piece that I should mention for $2,650 it s a lighter type opal almost half as big as the palm of a man s hand. Once our good opals like this are sold we will never be able to repeat them. There is a lovely Split.1oz for only $130. We have a Boulder Matrix opal from Winton.57 kilos for $396 it really is magnificent, there are some beautiful colours in there. Just imagine buying so much material for only $396. The same can be said for the huge Boulder Opal 2.5 kilos for only $100/kilo. There is one stone in here which is about the length between a woman s wrist and her elbow, you can see opal running through it and I suggest that as that is ground in there is other opal that you can t see from the outside, that s a wonderful parcel for only $250. The Boulder Opal Special for 32oz at only $10/oz $320 is a beautiful parcel, when cut it will only take 3 or 4 stones to pay for the parcel. I particularly like the 12oz blue green stone with a red bar, that s only $95, that will clean up beautifully, it s quite big for such little money. One of the best grades for the professional cutter is the 8oz for only $2,300 the lot. There are some magnificent stones in there. For the amateur who is wanting to try some Boulder Matrix the 3oz $40/oz is particularly good value, you will get a lot of stones. There is a huge 1.5 kilo Boulder with vey thick seams running through it for only $450, the veins of the Boulder Opal itself will make some magnificent stones even without any Boulder opal in them. There is something here for everyone. If you have been considering trying your hand at cutting Boulder this Offer has practice opal for the beginner right through to gem material for a professional. Don t miss the 10 faced Boulder opals only $10 each, $100 the lot.
