A delight for your senses also awaits you on the Okinawa Islands. Evergreen mountains, white beaches, rare wild animals and a lively cultural scene an immortal natural diversity and what seems to be a fountain of youth, as the people here live longer than anywhere else in the world. From the port of Motobu, you can visit the less frequented west and north of the main island of Okinawa. Time and again, you will encounter reminders of the island s colourful 1,000-year history, such as on a visit to the 14th-century Nakijin Castle*. The ever-present influence from China is clear in the undulating construction, which is unusual for Japan. Naha and the Shuri Castle* also bring to life the time of the Ryukyu Kingdom, which was in close contact with China. Here you can also make the most of the opportunity to mix in with the locals in your own way and taste some typical Okinawan food at the Makishi market. Another premiere destination for the BREMEN is Zamami-jima, the second-largest of the Kerama Islands. Tue, 09.10.2018 - Sun, 14.10.2018 Philippines (A) (Batan Island, Calaguas Islands, Legaspi, Limasawa Island, Bucas Grande Island) The yin and yang of this cruise continues in the Philippines. Batan Island is a hidden spot of earth in the Philippine Sea, which might remind you of Ireland: rugged coastline and lush, green hills, thatched stone houses and a white lighthouse. The Calaguas Islands are the complete opposite a hidden gem with beautiful long sandy beaches. Another new destination for the BREMEN is the provincial capital, Legaspi, where you can find out about the Philippine culture and enjoy the views of one of the world s most stunning volcanoes, Mount Mayon. Your journey back in time through the history of Christianity, which began on the Goto Islands, will be picked up again on Limasawa Island. Visit the place where the first Catholic mass was held in the Philippines in 1521. Bucas Grande Island is heavenly by nature and you can explore its areas of natural beauty with the Zodiacs.
