NEW PARKER BRAZE-FREE TUBE CONNECTORS CHANGE EVERYTHING. ESPECIALLY YOUR WORK SCHEDULE. Connecting copper tubes just got a whole lot easier and more efficient for HVAC/R technicians, thanks to the unique Braze-Free connectors concept from Parker. New Parker connectors are specially designed to work without brazing, which automatically makes your job simpler and faster when joining copper tubes. In addition, the one-piece fittings are reliably secure, leak-proof and more repeatable than brazed connections so there s no compromise on quality or performance. Professionals who have tried Braze-Free couplings report that their time and labor costs on tube connections are typically reduced 40 50% by eliminating the need for brazing. The biggest benefit of that improved efficiency is more productivity and increased profit potential, but there are also many other exciting advantages to braze-free tube connecting: Less equipment and no gas needed Safer conditions, no fire hazards No hot work permits required More environment-friendly No solder-related quality issues More flexible access to job sites No need to nitrogen-purge
NO SPECIAL TECHNIQUES, JUST SPECIAL ADVANTAGES. Parker Braze-Free fittings connect so easily, one person can do the connecting job alone. You don t need anybody else to help you haul gas tanks or stand by with fire safety equipment. Braze-Free tube connecting is also more repeatable than brazing. Any technician can quickly be an expert at tube joining with Braze-Free fittings. They will be able to do it without a lot of set-up, safety precautions or clean-up. A SIMPLE SOLUTION. The Braze-Free connecting process is based on exclusive, patented crimping technology. You only need two hands and a few simple tools. No brazing, no experience... and practically no time at all. Using specially designed crimping tools, just connect the deburred tube ends into the fitting (which has o-rings inside), and press the assembly into place for a secure, leak-free seal. Another advantage of the Braze-Free process is that if the press fitting is not crimped properly, it can be easily re-crimped. In addition, it requires no adhesives, just the crimping tool and the fitting. Parker Braze-Free connectors are currently available as a traditional straight coupling and a 90-degree elbow, with a T connector coming soon. The fittings can accommodate copper tubes from 1 /4 to 1 1 /8 with maximum operating pressure of 700 psi.
HOW BRAZE-FREE FITTINGS WORK. As these brief descriptions show, it s easy to install Braze-Free fittings for a clean, secure fit, but be sure to read and follow all of the detailed instructions, which come with the product. WARNING: Use only exclusive Parker Braze-Free fittings and products. Please read the instruction manual in complete detail prior to installation. Assure that all the proper tools 1 (the fitting, the crimping jaws, etc.) and aids are available prior to installation. Visually inspect the fitting, tube 2 and o-rings for imperfections, and replace if necessary. Cut the copper tube using the 3 supplied tube cutter. The Crimp Gauge can ensure the tube end is perpendicular. Use the deburring tool to remove 4 any residual burrs from the outside and inside of the tube (sharp edges may damage the o-ring). Using the dimple as a reference point 5 for the center of the fitting, mark the tubing with a permanent marker to indicate proper insertion depth on every tube. Push the fitting onto the tube. 6 A reference dimple in the fitting helps assure insertion depth and secure fit. Using the properly calibrated jaw, 7 place the crimping tool onto the fitting. Grooves in the jaws should line up on the fitting. Press and hold the trigger on the 8 tool until it completes its cycle. A special mark will be displayed on the tube to let you know the connection is right. It s that easy. HOW EFFICIENT TECHNICIANS CONNECT.
