Meet the Coaches We believe a program is only as good as the people who run it, which is why we take great pride in our exceptional coaching staff. Morgan Hoffman Team Playtri McKinney Head Coach morgan@playtri.com USAT Level II Certified Coach USAT Youth & Juniors Certified Coach USAT High Performance Team Head Coach ASCA Coach Member Coach Morgan Hoffman is the founder and lead coach of Playtri Youth & Juniors, which she started in 2010 at the Playtri Dallas location. It has since grown to over 100 athletes and three locations, as well as over 10 individual team programs. In 2015 Team Playtri Elite was ranked the #14 High Performance Team in the United States by USA Triathlon. Hoffman has coached the University of North Texas and Southern Methodist University club triathlon teams, and herself was a member of the University of North Texas Mean Green Triathlon Team in 2008 and 2009. She has coached athletes to international and collegiate competition, and has locally worked with literally thousands of young athletes along their triathlon journey. Caitlin Keen Team Playtri Dallas Head Coach caitlin@playtri.com Bachelor s in Applied Physiology Masters in Sport Management Coach Caitlin Keen competed on the highest level of both her high school and collegiate Cross Country and Track and Field teams. Graduating from Fort Worth Nolan Catholic High School in 2010, she earned all-state honors my freshman-senior years of competition. She continued competing at SMU where she earned 2 all conference finishes in Cross Country, an All- Region finish, and was a scoring member of 6 conference championship teams for both Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track. She graduated from SMU in 2014 with a Bachelor s Degree in Applied Physiology, a Minor in Business Administration, and again in 2015 with a Master s Degree in Sport Management where she completed her eligibility on the track with a 3rd place finish at the American Athletic Conference Championships in the 10,000 meters.

Beth Newell Team Playtri Dallas Coach beth@playtri.com USAT Level I Certified Coach USA Swimming Certified Coach ACE Certified Personal Trainer Coach Beth Newell grew up as a competitive swimmer, and after swimming for the University of Pittsburgh during her college career moved to become a club swim coach and swim team consultant. She completed her first Ironman race in 2014 and shortly after became committed to triathlon before moving to Texas and Playtri in 2015. Her extensive background in youth coaching and personal fitness has made her a perfect fit for our Dallas youth and junior athletes. Read Hoffman Team Playtri Colleyville Head Coach read.hoffman@gmail.com Coach Read Hoffman saw the need and desire for a youth program at the Playtri Colleyville Store, and decided to use his knowledge from 7 years of marathon and triathlon experience to help develop the next generation of Playtri athletes. Hoffman runs the Colleyville Kids Club where young athletes can learn basic race skills and strategy from someone with years of experience in endurance competition and training.

Ahmed Zaher Playtri Head Coach ahmed@playtri.com Founder of Playtri USAT Level I Certified Coach USA Cycling Certified Coach Coach Ahmed Zaher comes from a rich background of endurance sport experience, including qualification for the 1984 Olympic Games in the 100m freestyle, 2 years as an ITU short course elite triathlete, which included a 9 th place finish at the 2012 African Olympic Trials (at the age of 47), as well as 8 Kona Ironman finishes and countless other achievements in the world of triathlon. Ahmed has coached triathletes from beginners to elite to their goals for over 15 years, and has a particular passion for young and developing athletes.

USA Triathlon Annual Membership As of February 2015 all active Team Playtri members are required to have a current USA Triathlon annual membership, and to list Playtri as their affiliated club. Team Playtri is a USAT Club and High Performance Team. Athletes will not be able to register, nor will they be allowed to participate in practices until the team has been provided with proof of their current membership. If your athlete does not already have a USAT annual membership, please visit: https://www.teamusa.org/usa-triathlon/membership-services/join-or-renew Here you will be able to purchase a new membership, or renew an expired one. USAT Youth (ages 17 & under) Annual Membership: $15.00 USAT Adult (ages 18 & up) Annual Membership: $45.00 All athletes and parents are also required to sign a standard release waiver during registration.

Team Uniforms and Apparel 2016 Team Playtri uniforms and apparel will be provided by Rocket Science Sports. All athletes are required to purchase and race in the team trisuit. Uniform/apparel sizing and orders will be completed at your individual team parents meeting another reason not to miss! Provided below are the designs for the Team Playtri Kids and Team Playtri Elite trisuits, and the team cycling kits. Some teams may have additional team equipment/apparel requirements please review the information page for your individual team for a full list of required items.

Trials Week Schedule ALL new and returning athletes MUST participate in Trials Week! These sessions are designed to ensure that each athlete is placed in the correct team program for their ability level, as well as provide new athletes and families with the opportunity to interact with coaches and other families before committing to the program. Team Playtri Kids Colleyville Club Team The TPK Colleyville Club Team is intended to bring recreational youth triathlon to our Colleyville athletes, with age appropriate instruction on the basic skills, strategy and logistics of racing. Team Playtri Elite Distance Program The Team Playtri Elite Distance Program is designed to give out-of-town and out-of-state athletes their best chance to achieve their goals for F1, USAT Junior Elite and/or ITU Junior competition. The program is intended for highly-motivated, disciplined young athletes who have the ability to consistently complete workouts as designed away from the constant presence of a coach and team. Athletes meet weekly with the head coach via Skype, as well as having regular access to the coach via text, phone and email. Race Ages: 12-19 Practices: All workouts are assigned via Training Peaks, and athletes are expected to update at the end of each day with detailed feedback and sport files. Some athletes choose to participate on local single sport teams to supplement their training and maintain a social component in their sport experience the head coach will communicate with single sport coaches regarding training and racing on an as-needed basis. Distance athletes are encouraged to travel to the McKinney, TX area whenever possible to engage in team training, and are generally provided with free homestay during their travels. Race fees for adult races (Super Sprints and Sprints) can often be upwards of $75, so we encourage athletes who want to compete in these events to register as far in advance as possible.

Team Playtri Elite Rules and Expectations Please review the team rules and expectations with your athlete(s) in advance of their first team practice so that they are prepared to start off on the right foot! Athlete Expectations 1. Update Training Peaks at least every other day, with files (NT). 2. No cell phones in practice. 3. Always be respectful to everyone. 4. Be responsible for your own stuff. 5.
