July 16 th to July 20 th (Monday Friday) Ages 12+ This intensive is designed for Advanced/Intermediate to Advanced level ballet students ages 12 and older who have successfully auditioned for NESD s ALINEA Dance Company in spring of 2018 (audition date TBA) and have been approved to perform a classical ballet variation for the 2018/2019 season. Each day will include ballet, pointe and character classes and one hour private coaching sessions with one of two qualified coaches. Once the student is registered for the Intensive the teacher will carefully select a variation that is appropriate for his/her level, ability & personality. We will conclude the week with a showcase where each student will perform the variation in front of family, friends and teachers. 3 daily technique classes & 5, 1 hour long private lessons....$460 Space is limited for this Intensive! Each day will include a ballet and pre-pointe/pointe class, character class, a ballet of the day snack break and variations/repertoire class. July 30th to August 4 th (Monday Saturday) 9:00 am 4:00 pm Ages 7-11 & 12+ This intensive will introduce dancers ages 7-11 & 12+ (separate levels) to the process of creating a dance production. From class, rehearsals and choreography to costumes, lighting/set design and hair/make-up your student will discover all the elements that go into a dance performance! On the first day students will be assigned to a creative team or company in which they will collaborate, create, discover and problem solve with for the rest of the week. The mornings will be dedicated to training in ballet, contemporary, Pilates and or another technique class and the afternoons to company time to build choreographic phrases and take seminars in relevant subjects like marketing, composition, music editing, lighting & set design, sewing, nutrition, make-up/hair & physical therapy. The final day each company will have a tech & dress rehearsal time slot to turn NESD s studio C into a unique theatre space and premiere their production for family, friends & teachers! Each student will also receive a T-Shirt & a special photo shoot with a dance photographer!
