Welcome to the Dreamz Elite Family We are excited that you have decided to become a part of our family. It is our mission to give every child the skills necessary to succeed and grow in cheerleading as well as in life; by providing lessons in dedication, teamwork, motivation, and discipline. We hope to challenge and motivate them to become better athletes physically, mentally, and emotionally in a fun and family environment. You are about to embark on a journey like no other sport. There is nothing like it. We are looking forward to an amazing season. Welcome to the Power of Dreamz! What is All Star Cheerleading? All-Star Cheerleading is a competitive team sport incorporating skills from several other disciplines such as gymnastics, dance, stunting, and cheer. All-Star Cheerleading squads do not cheer for other sports teams. They are the team! All-Star teams can be comprised of both boys and girls, and teams are divided by both age and ability level. Competition routines are typically 2 1/2 minutes in length and elements are choreographed to music. Routines are judged based on difficulty, technique, creativity, and showmanship. All-Star Cheerleading has allowed the work to see inside the sport in a way never before possible. With competitions being covered on ESPN, no one can deny that cheerleading is indeed, a sport! Dreamz Elite does not charge a fee to tryout. Athletes will be assessed in areas of tumbling, stunting, jumps, and technique. There are 5 levels for teams this season. The level refers to the type of stunts, tumbling, and pyramids the team can safely perform. The level is determined solely by the coaching staff. Everyone makes a team! No experience necessary! EVALUATION CHECKLIST Try-out Form Copy of Birth Certificate Financial Agreement Payment Authorization Form ALL OUTSTANDING DEBTS MUST BE PAID IN FULL AT THE GYM. TEAM PLACEMENT INFORMATION Our evaluation process is meant to be stress-free. During evaluations we allow our athletes to show the skills they have mastered and look for their potential to learn new skills and positions. After the final session of placements, the staff will assemble rosters for the upcoming season. We work to select teams that each have the best possible chance of a successful competition season. There may be athletes on any given team that are at a different level than their teammates. We do our best to match athletes by level, but look for athletes that will benefit the team all around. Every athlete is on the team for a reason please trust our decisions. All parents will be notified of tryout results when the coaches have made their final decisions. Placements are not finalized until August. Athletes who do not keep skills performed at tryouts or gain skills may be moved to a different team or be asked to cross-over to a second team.
