Cessnock Golf Club, 2018 Booklet Club Telephone: 49901633 Administration: Pro Shop: Website: email: admin@cessnockgolfclub.com.au email: golfpro@cessnockgolfclub.com.au www.cessnockgolfclub.com.au Cessnock Golf Club may be hired for functions. It is also most welcoming of charity and social groups who wish to use the course and facilities to either raise money or to simply have an enjoyable day out. Introduction: Welcome to Cessnock Golf Club. The redeveloped Cessnock Golf Course has rapidly gained a reputation as one of the leading courses in the Hunter Valley. We are particularly proud of our greens, we hope you enjoy the challenge. We would ask you to adhere to these points of etiquette. There is a dress code for the course and the clubhouse, this needs to followed. There are rules for usage of carts owned by the club or by individual players, rules are for the safety of all and for the maintenance of the course and will be strictly applied. Any individual 18 hole round of golf should be completed in under four and a half hours. Players in competitions may be penalised if they exceed this time, social players may be asked to leave the course if they are holding up other groups. Only alcohol purchased at the club may be consumed on the course property. Please be courteous and give way to green staff at all times. Please repair all divots and damage done to greens and fairways. Please carry a sand bucket and use it generously if a repair is required. Please do not hit up on other players. Please advise the club pro or management if your ball hits a car, house or other property that is adjacent to the course. Every effort has been made to ensure this program was accurate at the time of printing. CGC apologises for any inconvenience caused due to a late change in event schedules. Changes will only be made in the event of unforeseen circumstances. All events are open to male and female members, juniors and visitors with approved AGU handicaps. Visitors may not win the major prize in Board Events. Saturday Events: Hit off times are 7.00am - 11.00am. Tee time bookings are required and can be made online or in the proshop. The course will be open to social players from 11.30am. Presentations will be completed between 4.00pm and 4.20pm. Groups who are unable to complete their

rounds by the start time of the presentation may forfeit any prizes to which they may be entitled. Black tees will be used for all Monthly Mugs and other major events. The Captain may choose to bring the tees forward if the weather and lack of run on the course would make play very challenging. Blue tees will normally be used for other events. Ladies will play off the red tees. JUNIORS: On any Saturday when there is an individual event there will be a Junior Category prize. This is aimed at encouraging junior participation. The prize will not be awarded if the leading junior wins a prize in the main competition. CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS: Each of the twelve Monthly Mug winners from December 2017 through November 2018 will be invited to play off for the title of Champion of Champions. This will be a stroke event on the first Saturday in December 2018 and will correspond with the first day of the next twelve month cycle. The Champion of Champions will be eligible to win the December, 2018 Monthly Mug. In the event of a tie the normal countback rules will apply. ECLECTIC: In 2018 two eclectics will be run. The first on selected Saturdays and all Tuesday stableford events from the until. The second on selected Saturdays and all Tuesday stableford events from to. The specific Saturdays will be indicated on the Club noticeboard. The Sunday of the Championships will be an eclectic score day. Scores will only be included if they are made during eclectic events. Cost for entering each event will be $5 and then there is a 50 cent charge for each score change. All money collected will be returned as a cash prize to the winners. A record of player scores will be regularly updated on the Club Noticeboard. An official record will also be kept by the Club Captain. Accuracy of the scores is the responsibility of each individual player. CONSITENCY TROPHY: Commencing on Saturday 17 th February and concluding on Saturday 27 th October the club will run a competition to find the most consistent golfer. Fourteen single stableford events will be nominated as counters. The winner will be the player who can accumulate the highest tally when his or her best nine stableford rounds are added together. A running total will be displayed on the Club Noticeboard. Tuesday Event: A single stableford competition will be run each Tuesday, provided no other major event is scheduled. This competition is open to all male and female members and to juniors and visitors with approved AGU handicaps. Tee off time is 7am until 9.30am, pre booking a tee off time through the proshop is recommended. Social players will be welcome after 9.30am. Floating Event:

An 18 hole floating stableford competition will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday when there are no other major events scheduled. Hit off is a walk up start. There will be a new competition each fortnight. This competition is open to all male and female members and to juniors and visitors with approved AGU handicaps. VETS Thursday: The VETS play an 18 hole competition each Thursday morning. Occasionally there is a major event on the course, on these days the VETS visit another course. Hit off is between 6.30am and 7.45am with a walk up start. Presentations are held between 12.45pm and 1.00pm. The type of event is determined by the VETS Captain and announced a week in advance. Events are open to members, ladies and visiting VETS who have AGU handicaps. Ladies: The ladies run a competition on Wednesday. Hit off is between 8.00am and 9.30am. Tee time bookings are recommended. Contact the proshop for specific event details. FootGolf: A nine hole FootGolf course has been set up within the golf course. Members of the public, social groups and sporting clubs are welcome to play FootGolf. However bookings are required as there are specific times set aside for golf and FootGolf. It also takes some time to set up the FootGolf course and so without a booking the course may not be ready. 2018 Golf Program E1 = Eclectic Event 1, E2 = Eclectic Event 2.
