ENTRIES CONDITIONS OF ENTRY Entry will be open to all licenced riders currently registered with a West Australian affiliated BMX Club and hold a Mini Wheeler, Sprocket or Open Licence only. Entries will not be accepted from any other State. You must compete at these 2016 State Championships to be eligible to enter the 2017 BMX Australia National Championships (as per BMXA guidelines) NOMINATIONS FOR PRE STATE EVENTS Nominations for all Pre State Events will be available online. Ordinary mail that gets lost will not be accepted as an excuse. Cheques and Money Orders made payable to BMX Sports Western Australia Dishonoured Cheques will invalidate your entry. Fees and Charges associated with the dishonoured cheques must be reimbursed to BMX Sports Western Australia prior to the close of entry acceptance. LATE ENTRIES LATE ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY 4PM MONDAY 29 th AUGUST 2016. Late entries will incur a $30 late fee per class entered. ACCEPTANCE AND REFUSAL OF ENTRIES It is the rider s responsibility to check if an entry has been accepted. Confirmation of all accepted entries received will be placed on the BMX Sports Western Australia website. www.bmxsportswa.com.au At close of late entries on the 29 th AUGUST all classes and plate numbers will be confirmed. Please contact BMX Sports Western Australia immediately on (08) 6336 9685 if you have a query with your entry. BMX Sports Western Australia reserves the right to refuse entry to any person. RIDER REFUNDS Requests for refunds shall be in writing and lodged with BMX Sports Western Australia no later than Monday 22 nd August 2016. Requests for refunds received after the 22 nd August 2016 will not be considered without appropriate medical proof. An administration fee of $15 will be imposed on all granted refunds. 4
ENTRIES TEAM ENTRIES Team entries must enter using a manual entry form. The Team rules and entry from www.bmxsportswa.com.au Cost will be $70 per team to enter. Team entries will close on FRIDAY 23 rd SEPTEMBER 2016 Note: After close of Team entries, Team Managers may advise the scoring coordinator of a substitute rider to replace a nominated rider who is unable to compete due to injury. Any changes advised later than 1 hour prior to the commencement of racing will not be accepted. Teams covered in the competition: Family / Club Teams: Teams entered either by a registered BMX Club or an unsponsored team entered by a family or group of families. Corporate Teams: Teams entered by Pro Shops, Manufacturers, Business Houses and other interested groups. ENTRY CLASSES Four (4) paid entries as at close of registration constitute a class. Entries are open to Western Australian licenced riders ONLY. Under subscribed classes will be combined with the appropriate class. PARTICIPATION CLASSES: SPROCKET & MINI WHEELER Sprocket and Mini Wheeler racing will comply with the Junior Sports Policy as noted in the BMX Australia Rule Book. MINI WHEELER Combined Boys and Girls classes All Mini Wheeler riders will receive equal participation awards SPROCKET Boys- 5 & Under, 6, 7 Girls Sprocket Girls (All ages to 7 years) All Sprockets will receive equal participation awards CHALLENGE 20 CLASSES Riders are only permitted to enter one 20 class and one 24 class. RACE INFORMATION RACING NUMBERS All Riders will be issued a 2 digit number and plate for use at the 2016 State Championships. All riders must display the number plate provided without modification, showing their designated race number and properly fixed to the front of the bike before being allowed to participate in any practice sessions. Current UCI permanent career numbers and registered State 2 digit allocation will be honoured where appropriate. There shall be no unofficial stickers on the plate. Refer UCI Part 6 BMX Rule Book 6.1.072. TRANSPONDERS Transponders will be used in conjunction with a finish line camera system at the 2016 BMXWA State Championships for all riders except Mini Wheelers and Sprockets. It is the rider s responsibility to have the correct transponder fixed to their bike and ensure subscription is current. Riders failing to have a working transponder affixed will be deemed as Did not Start DNS. Transponders can be checked at the Transponder test station. Hired transponders are $10 per transponder. Hired transponders must be returned to the race organiser at the conclusion of the event or once they have finished racing. Failure to do so will incur the rider a cost of $150 plus recovery costs. Note: Riders who use their own personal Mylaps Transponder must ensure the number is entered on the entry to avoid the cost of a hire fee. 8
RACE INFORMATION RACING FORMAT Racing will be conducted where Mini Wheelers, Sprockets and Cruisers will compete on Friday. Challenge and Championship 20 classes will race on Saturday. Gate positions for qualifying heats will be by scrambled moto draw. Classes with 8 or less riders, the last placed rider at the completion of the qualifying motos will not transfer to the Finals. Placings will be awarded for all classes in the order that they cross the finish line in the final. 4 Riders will constitute a class. Classes with less than 4 entries will be combined with the appropriate class at the discretion of the promoter (BMX Sports Western Australia) in accordance with UCI guidelines. MOTO DRAWS The moto and lane draws will be processed after the completion of registration. Only entrants who have attended registration and confirmed their intention to compete in the event will be included in the race draw. AGE DETERMINATION All Classes including sprockets will race year of competition minus year of birth. (eg: a rider who turns 8 in 2016 will rider as an 8 year challenge rider) Sprocket & Mini Wheeler classes will abide by the Junior Sports Policy. All riders 7 years and under will not be scored or ranked. All Mini Wheelers and Sprockets will receive a participation award. 9
RACE INFORMATION PRE-STATES Pre State events will be run Sunday 2 nd October and Tuesday 4 th October. All entries will be available online at: www.bmxsportswa.com.au REGISTRATION Registration will be at Westside BMX Track on Thursday 6 th October from 9.00am 12.00pm and 1.00pm -4.00pm All Competitors are required to confirm their entry and participation by presenting a current BMX Australia Licence (required for Barcode Scanning) no later than 4.00pm Thursday 6 th October. NO BIKES in the registration area please. Please ensure you have a CURRENT BMX LICENCE WITH YOU FOR REGISTRATION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR EVENT All competitors, officials, members and supporters are to read and abide by the BMX Rules and Regulations including but not limited to: a. BMX Sports Western Australia Code of Conduct b. BMX Anti-Doping Policy c. BMX Member Protection Policy d. BMX Helmet Policy e. BMX Integrity Gaming Match Fixing Policy f. BMX Concussion Policy AWARDS All Athletes that have placed in the finals must attend their respective awards ceremony. Failure to do so will result in a loss of award (including prizemoney) Riders who cannot attend the awards ceremony must advise the Event Organiser or Race Director with a valid reason. Riders MUST wear race apparel to the awards ceremony. Failure to do so will result in a loss of award (including prizemoney) 10
