Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible. Summer qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non-members but only ponies owned by adult NPS Qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition. The highest placed pony, if owned by an NPS member, will qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show held at Malvern from 31 st July - 2 nd August 2018. Qualification may pass down to third place if the first and second ponies are already qualified. Owner s membership cards to be shown in the ring. Equifest Qualifiers This show is affiliated to Equifest taking place at the East of England Showground on 8 th 12th August 2018. The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify. Ponies Association (UK) Qualifiers This show is affiliated to Ponies Assocation (UK). The three highest placed exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify to take part in the finals. No membership is required to enter or compete in any Championship Final. Sunshine Tours Championship Qualifiers. Held at the All England Showground, Hickstead on 13-16 August 2018. Competitors need to bring their own qualifier Card obtained from Sunshine Tour office. Classes are for Unaffiliated Novice, Amateur riders, handlers, horses & ponies. 1st - 4th qualify. Class 5 NPS/STEVENSON BROTHERS ROCKING HORSES M&M FIRST RIDDEN WORKING HUNTER PONY CHAMPIONSHIP To be run under National Pony Society rules 2018. Open to registered M & M mares or geldings four years old or over not exceeding 128 cm. Riders must have attained their 5th birthday but must not have attained their 12 th birthday before the 1st January in the current year. Riders who have qualified for the (Horse of the Year Show/RIHS) M&M Working Hunter Pony Championship before the 1 st January in the current year are not eligible. THIS CLASS HAS BEEN VERY KINDLY SPONSORED BY THE SOUTH EASTERN WELSH PONY AND COB ASSOCIATION. Not before 10.30 Judge: Mrs J James NPS/TEAM HARVEY WORKING HUNTER PONY TRAINING STAKES (Open to M & M and Plaited Ponies). To be run under National Pony Society rules 2018. Open to mares, geldings and stallions four years old or over, in possession of an equine passport but no specific registration or breed criteria. Plaited ponies to a maximum of 153cm. Owners do not have to be a member of the NPS to qualify but must be a member to enter the final at the NPS Spring Festival. Open to registered M & M stallions, mares or geldings four years old or over, except stallions (see rules in section A 3.2) This competition will be run as 3 sections within one class and qualification will be awarded in each section. Class 9(a) Ponies not exceeding 128cms Class 9(b) Ponies exceeding 128cms but not exceeding 138cms Class 9(c) Ponies exceeding 138cms but not exceeding 148cms (with the exception of Dales and Welsh sec D) Class 9(d) Championship. 1 st and 2 nd prize winners from classes 9 (a b & c) to compete.

Not before 2.00 Judge: Mrs J Burdon Unaffiliated WHP Sunshine Tour Qualifier - Any height Pony/Horse any age rider, these classes are for Novice, Amateur unaffiliated riders, handlers, horses and ponies. Competitors need to bring their own qualifier Card obtained from Sunshine Tour office. The Sunshine Tour National Championship is held on the hallowed turf of The All England Showground at Hickstead from Thursday 13 th Sunday 16 th September 2018 for unaffiliated and amateur competitors of all ages and abilities. The Championships features: Showing for lead rein, first ridden, in-hand, ridden, working hunter, veterans, plus many more To qualify: 1 st to 4 th placed in classes 10-12. The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified in classes 13 and 14 will qualify for the SPILLERS/EQUIFEST M & M IN HAND The three highest competitors in classes 13 and 14 will qualify for the P(UK) M & M In Hand Final Class 13 Small breeds in hand Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, Welsh A & B Class 14 Large breeds in hand Connemara, Dales, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Welsh C & D Class 14a Championship. 1 st and 2 nd prize winners in classes 13 14 to compete. The NPS/Kilmannan Stud Silver Medal Rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the best registered pony owned by an NPS Qualifying or Life member in the M&M In Hand section. The Sponsor s Rosette is also awarded to the pony receiving the qualification. Membership cards must be presented in the ring to receive the medal and/or the qualification. Class 15 NPS/SHOWING CLASSICS M & M LEADING REIN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP To be run under National Pony Society rules 2018. Open to registered M & M mares or geldings four years old or over not exceeding 122cms. The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified in class 15 will qualify for the CAVERNOMA ALLIANCE UK/EQUIFEST M & M LEAD REIN The three highest placed competitors will qualify for the P(UK) M & M Lead Rein Final Class 16 NPS/SHOWING CLASSICS M & M FIRST RIDDEN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP To be run under National Pony Society rules 2018. Open to registered M & M mares or geldings four years old or over not exceeding 128cms.

The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified in class 16 will qualify for the EQUI-CHIP/EQUIFEST M & M FIRST RIDDEN The three highest placed competitors will qualify for the P(UK) M & M First Ridden Final Class 16a Championship. 1 st and 2 nd prize winners in classes 15 16 to compete. NPS/PICTON M & M NOVICE RIDDEN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP To be run under National Pony Society rules 2018. A pony is not eligible to compete if, before 1 st January in the current year, it has done any of the following: i. Won an open NPS affiliated mixed M&M Ridden class ii. iii. iv. Class 35 Class 35a Class 36 Class 36a Class 36b Class 36c Qualified for Horse of the Year Show, Olympia or RIHS Open M&M Ridden classes Qualified for the M&M Novice or Intermediate Ridden final at the NPS Summer Championship show (N.B. Ponies can compete as novices in this competition for two consecutive years provided they do not submit an entry to the final in the first year). If a pony qualifies for Horse of the Year Show, Olympia or RIHS in its second year it is immediately de-noviced and cannot compete in the Picton Final. Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland Welsh A & B Connemara, New Forest Dales, Fell, Highland Welsh C & D Championship. 1 st and 2 nd prize winners in classes 35 36b to compete. NPS/RINGSIDE M & M OPEN RIDDEN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP To be run under National Pony Society rules 2018. Open to registered M & M stallions, mares or geldings. The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified in classes 17 and 18 will qualify for the EQUIFEST OPEN RIDDEN M & M The three highest competitors in classes 17 and 18 will qualify for the P(UK) M & M Ridden Pony of the Year Final Class 17 Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, Welsh A & B Class 18 Connemara, Dales, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Welsh C & D Class 18a Championship. 1 st and 2 nd prize winners in classes 17 18 to compete. Not before 1.00 Judges: Mrs J Godden (P) & Mrs S Hird (C) PONIES ASSOCIATION (UK) RIHS JUNIOR M & M RIDDEN QUALIFIER. Owners must be Annual Members. Riders must be current P(UK) Annual/Senior/Junior Riders Club Members and the ponies currently registered with P(UK) before the time of entry in order to compete in these classes. Class 19 Young Riders M & M Small Breeds Mare or gelding 4 years old & over registered in their approved Pure Breed Society stud books of Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, Welsh section A or B. Rider not to have attained their 14 th birthday before the 1 st January in the current year. Class 20 Young Riders M & M Large Breeds Mare or gelding 4 years old & over registered in their approved Pure Breed Society stud books of Connemara, Dales, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Welsh section C or D. Rider not to have attained their 18 th birthday before the 1 st January in the current year. Class 21 Young Riders Intermediate M & M Stallion, mare or gelding 4 years old & over registered in their approved Pure Breed Society stud books of Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh section A, B, C or D. Rider not to have attained their 25 th birthday before the 1 st January in the current year. (See rule 7 of the current P(UK) Rule Book. Class 21a Championship. 1 st and 2 nd prize winners in classes 19 21. PONIES ASSOCIATION (UK) RIHS AMATEUR RIDDEN M & M QUALIFIER Owners must be Annual Members. Riders must be current P(UK) Annual/Senior/Junior Riders Club Members and the ponies currently registered with P(UK) before the time of entry in order to compete in this class. The P(UK) RIHS Amateur Riders Qualifier is open to riders who for showing purposes have not engaged in a training programme for riders/horse/ponies, livery, buying/selling or dealing of ponies/horses

as a means of deriving a source of income since 1 st August 2016 (Please refer to Rule 25 in the current Rule Book. Class 22 P(UK) M & M RIHS Amateur Riders Stallion, mare or gelding 4 years old & over registered in their approved Pure Breed Society stud books of Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh section A, B, C or D. Rider any age. New for 2018 GOLD MEDAL SERIES A Gold Medal will be awarded in each specified class to the highest placed exhibit who has qualified at a Ponies UK affiliated show during Winter 2017/18. 8.15 COURSE WALK. Open to pure bred registered M&M stallions, mares and geldings, five years old or over. The owner must be a Qualifying or Life member of the NPS for the pony to enter this competition. Riders may only ride one pony in each class. The highest placed pony from each class to qualify for the final at Hickstead. At the final riders must also be NPS members. Class 31 Ponies not exceeding 122cm Class 32 Ponies exceeding 122cm but not exceeding 133cm Class 33 Ponies exceeding 133cm but not exceeding 143cm Class 34 Ponies exceeding 143cm Class 34a Championship. 1 st and 2 nd prize winners in classes 31 34 to compete.

RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY. 1. Neither the NPS Area 20 Committee, Judges, Stewards, Assistants nor BRENDON EQUESTRIAN shall in any way be held responsible or accountable for any theft, accident, injury, loss or damage (howsoever this may be caused) to any exhibit, person, animal, property, vehicles brought on to the showground, any premises used in conjunction with, arising out of or attainable to the show. It shall be a condition of entry that each entrant or spectator shall indemnify the show organisers and proprietors against any legal proceedings arising from any accident or misdemeanour. NPS Area 20 is covered by Public Liability insurance. Competitors should ensure that they hold adequate third party insurance cover in respect of any accident caused by themselves, their family, or helpers, their vehicles or animals when on the showground. 2. The Judge s decision is final. The class ends when the judge dismisses the class. 3. Stallions 4 years old and over must be suitably bitted and must be in possession of a current NPS or appropriate breed society licence unless otherwise governed by their individual Breed Society & wearing a stallion disc. 4. In all cases, whips/canes must not exceed 30 in length. 5. Objections to be made in writing to the show secretary, together with a deposit of 40, within one hour of the disputed event. If the objection is upheld the deposit will be forfeited. 6. If for any reason the show has to be cancelled, only half the entry fee will be refunded. In no other case will any entry fee be refunded. 7. In all M & M classes, ridden and in hand, ponies must be shown as recommended by their breed society rules, and are restricted to the heights laid down by their appropriate breed societies. 8. All exhibitors must be in control of their animals at all times and any animal considered to be constituting a danger will be asked to leave the showground immediately. 9. No telephone entries. Entries taken on the day are cash only. 10. The show organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry without giving a reason. 11. The committee reserve the right to substitute judges without warning or amalgamate classes due to insufficient entries in one class. 12. All dogs must be kept on leads. 13. Riders of stallions should be not less than 12 years of age at 1 st January of the current year when riding small breeds, and not less than 14 years of age when riding large breeds. 14. Handlers of stallions and colts must have attained their 14 th birthday by 1 st January of the current year. 15 Correctly secured Skull Caps/Riding Hats that meet one of the following current Safety Standards MUST be worn by all Riders.
